Somebody had better tell the credit card companies and the high frequency traders! Computers - not good at doing numbers fast.

Never am I more disappointed that I have an avocado allergy than when we get sushi.

Medicaid is not for sale. NASA is not for sale. The Post Office is not for sale. America is not for sale. We have an obligation to resist kings. We outnumber them. And they can be overwhelmed.

I still love every chance I get to use Clojure. That language gets so many things right.

I'm not a UI guy, so generating UI mockups with corresponding React components using Claude is 🤌

I'm trying to get back into piano by learning songs I like. Tonight, that meant playing the Severance theme and "Is He Worthy?" by Andrew Peterson.

Of course Sqlite would have a section in its docs titled "Outlandish Recursive Query Examples"! It has queries for generating an ASCII-art Mandelbrot Set and solving Sudoku. www.sqlite.org/lang_with.ht...

Any sufficiently advanced database is indistinguishable from magic.

I gotta stop the doomscrolling. Somebody just text me when we're back to precedented times, K?

Is there a widely-used ontology for technical metadata, including lineage and provenance?

Last week's episode of Severance was so good. I can't wait for the next one.. Any theories as to what's going to happen?

I'm glad that Twin Peaks was made in the early 90s, not today. If it was made today, there would probably be a Twin Peaks "universe" with spin-off shows, and every mystery would be explored to death, with a huge reliance on VFX. I love that the show was weird, janky, and ambiguous.

The Gulf of America is just Boaty McBoatface minus the will of the people.

This is all of Medicaid, by the way. This means people will die. It means disabled kids like my son will lose our extra medical coverage and our waiver funds that help pay for his care. This will devastate the country in ways you cannot imagine. An absolutely hate-filled group of people

The most fascinating aspect of language has to be the Zipfian distribution of word frequencies.

The American church needs to come to terms with the fact that it's not being weak that's the bad thing, is exploiting the weak.

Well, I'm offline till people stop talking about football 😆

For gordian, my graph database, I'm implementing a quad-store model where the data lives in a number of indexes (similar to Datomic). I'm trying to determine the data structure to use for these indexes. I'm going to try to use a bw-tree, but I've never implemented one before.

Nachos or tacos?

I just finished Twin Peaks: The Return, Part 8. What the heck did I just watch?!?!?

What is the best song to come out of the '90s, and why is it Kiss from a Rose?
