1/3 676/325/351 = 4/81/25 = 4/2025 ah! :)

ah, I thought the solution was obviously near (1/3 + 1/5) 1/270 = 8/15/270 = 4/15/135 = 4/3/675 = 4/2025. No?
1/975 + 1/1053 = 1/3 (1/325 + 1/351) = 1/3 676/325/351 = oh, this one looks not very beautiful

I don't know why people want to give such critique and write the comment letters, but you may guess that pregnant women or drivers with pregnant women as passengers may naturally tend to drive slower (& assuming emergency delivery is relatively rare in Twn) :/ www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

It's more interesting to see the comment on that paper www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti..., where Rengasamy and Veeraraghavan argue that the results may be biased because of not accounting for velocity of the vehicle at the time of the crash. By other words, was it b/c pregnant women drive faster?

Recently, I was solving a school problem for my niece: what are the values of a and b in ax^8 - bx^7 + 1 = 0 to make it divisable by (1 - x)^2? Children in Taiwan are taught to do it by long division, but me, I started with writing a(x^4 - 1)^2 - bx(x^3 - 1)^2 + ... and 1st qst was, why do u do it?

1/270 * (1 / 3 + 1 / 5), although, my method is probably too straightforward.

Jointly and pleasantly working with Bianca de Padua (our student at NTU, Taiwan) and Robin Thompson (Univ. of Oxford, UK). Many thanks!

Noémie, thank you for your great work! I wonder, if I investigate the spread of TB at given location and have a co-circulating multi-drug resistant TB and non-resistant TB, would this approach and phylogeny allow me to estimate (=quantify) the relative fitness of MDR-TB vs non-resistant TB?

However, the serial interval (SI) was significantly different between historical data and the 2022 global outbreak. A shorter SI for latter was likely due to interventions, a different transmission route, and other factors.
