I guess we can put the mod influencing sales negatively to bed, it sold a million copies in three days.

Mods haven't traditionally affected sales, except in cases where modding is a significant part of the game's following, like with Doom. They're not part of the official thing after all. As for SW2 port, if its well optimized and controls well, should be an option for those without gaming PC or PS5.

Modding is one of PC gaming's more appealing element, so if that'd be something buyer would enjoy or look for, then it'd give a small kick to the sales. I only used "questionable" as you used it. I'd call them business a usual for a mod scene.

Mods are optional and out of the way from normal users who don't look for mods. I'd imagine a wider variety of options to choose from, questionable or not, would attract more customers.

What's the basis for the view it won't sell as well on PC?

Switch 2 has no killer appeal game. I'm sure it might have something down the line, but this launch is anemic at best. Whoever thought people would like to buy a Wii U game for the second or third time with Zelda BotW should find a new job.

I'd rather have that than hear them bumping the table.

A viewer once was going to give you scans for LP of an anime you were going to cover, and sperged out how you don't want to get flagged for piracy.

I just wanted a source that would clearly state that Digimon predates Pokémon, but the main source for this claim is elusive. Got no beef with the rest of this, none of it of interest to me or new.

Digimon and Tamagotchi are two different IPs, so there's no such thing as "Digimon Tamagotchi." They're sister franchises with Digimon being battle-oriented. Both are virtual pets tho Green wasn't renamed as Blue as both versions in the US/EUR releases were reworked versions of the JPN Pokémon Blue

Now don't become one of the 41%, that'd be embarrassing.

Finding these sources also lead me to find the original term coined for Tokusatsu in the Western hemisphere; Cyber-Socky. aaltomies.wordpress.com/2024/02/06/i... #tokusatsu

Wrote a blog post on this last year, when night shifts were wrecking my body. The post has official sources I've found, including a few US and European ones mixing things up. aaltomies.wordpress.com/2024/01/25/m...

I've also become to believe that Westerners, especially US citizens, are thinking of US/EU release order, where Digimon did predate Pokémon in release, but this has no real impact on the actual development of the franchises and original releases.

Here are my sources dating them, but if you have something that contradicts these, I'd really love to see them for further research. digimon.net/history/ toy.bandai.co.jp/series/tamag... www.youtube.com/watch?v=4h1M... www.pokemon.co.jp/game/other/g...

Could you cite a source that states Digimon predates Pokémon? Bandai's own website dates the first V-Pet to 1997.27.2, TBS news places Tamagotchi's to 1996.11.23 (Bandai's official doesn't mention the day) while Pokémon Red/Green came out on 1996.02.28.

Neither has happened yet, but we should strive for that to happen, yes.
