I think the only time I've heard of Sega mentioning anything regarding the backgrounds was providing a small amount of direction on Spring Valley from Seasons of Chaos
That aside I've never received any notes on any backgrounds or environments, but I can't really speak for anyone else

I loooooved getting to draw some wacky expressions in this one
This is the kind of stuff I grew up seeing in the Pokemon anime etc so it was great getting to put something similar to paper here (and of course it was a great opportunity to reference the attack from Sonic Riders lol)
