lol, replied to the wrong post. Should have been the "static as a server" post.

āStatic is a server that runs ahead of time" is a great, clarifying line. You should put this at the start of the article. Or even the as the title.

The challenge is there is truth to this ā bureaucracies have become complex and opaque. They are after all run by fallible humans. However, Instead of dismantling everything, we can look to examples like Taiwan where technology has been used to improve democracy through transparency and openness.

This includes how bureaucratic systems ā critical for the survival of democracy ā become complex, opaque and distrusted by the public. This in turn makes them a target for Populists, who advocate to 'fix' the problem by dismantling the very mechanisms that keep democracy functioning.

@pjvogt.bsky.social's episode on Zuckerbergāand @caseynewton.bsky.social's commentsāmade me reconsider my "bloodless lizard creature" depiction above. No, I still don't like him, but I understand him better now and perhaps even pity the situation he's created for himself.

Nice! Have you built anything in Fresh with a DB layer or auth? I see they have some examples on the blog. Just curious about your experience if so.

Yeah, it looks great. I've seen a few sites built with it now. Are you using any additional libraries for front end? Or all just Fresh/Preact?

Getting the same results here, even in AU

I'm trying to use the concept of a sketch to get around this blocker. I'll do many sketches for a design and all of them can be bad. And that's ok :)

Here's the post I wrote in 2020 and the motivation behind writing more. I didn't quite manage to achieve the goal of sharing more writing publicly, but let's see what 2025 brings š

Bip stands out as one of my all-time favourite projects because it presented such a unique design challengeāunlike anything I've encountered before or since.
