In addition to all the points in this thread, new parents don’t have guaranteed leave in the US. If a parent only gets a few weeks to bond with their baby, you want them to spend one of those days in a government office?

I have serious doubts of course about how good faith this EO is but it's worth emphasizing that, should the gov actually try to prioritize children's health and nutrition, in addition to other environmental exposures, theyre going to discover that America has failed for decades to fund such research

If this place has pinned tweets, then here’is mine for the foreseeable: - Raw milk is NOT a good idea, is not superior to pasteurized milk - Vaccines ARE a good idea - Seed oils did not, nor has any other single food/nutrient, caused obesity and chronic disease rates Stay healthy out there.

Executive wants to frame the NIH indirects cut as $4B in savings. But given that NIH returns $2.5 on every $1 investment, this would actually cost US economy a net $6 BILLION (per year!). Not to mention the human costs of wrecking education and research sectors and the communities they serve.
