2/ Ranking Member Durbin's letter to Inspector General notes even setting aside potential perjury, explosive nature of Patel, outside of government, potentially directing the purge itself.

Ostensibly neutral professions are going to have to decide if they're going to allow the GOP to corrupt their domains/institutions. Bar associations should be aggressive pulling licenses if they remotely care about protecting "the law" because if they don't they will lose the publics trust

it’s hard to ignore a court order while also (successfully) appealing the order to a higher court. That’s called contempt of court and unclean hands, which should seriously undermine their chance of success on appeal.
