That was a great read. I’m glad that getting diagnosed has been rather freeing for you in some aspects.

Came for tear cricket but now I am intrigued by the “Autism stuff”. I am a special education teacher so always interested.

Top notch commentating right there.

Agreed. This is a stark contrast to the WTC final. While the game was good it was not the most enjoyable viewing.

What’s the highest innings score in a Test opening?

It certainly seemed that last batters went down super quick. Does rain usually make the outfield faster or slower?
comment in response to post
Those last six batters went for maybe 41? My understanding of form is that England’s batting corps are not as strong as their bowling/fielding.

I am personally going with the underdog pick and saying Seattle gets their first win.

Ah yes the ‘other’ English language.

That’s similar for my podcast. Mostly got me but happy people listen

Well now I am super intrigued. Is this some of the basis for your Substack work?

Is this research job-related or just personal fulfillment kind of thing?

That’s super helpful information all around.

That is some quick numbers. I wonder if some of this is related to the franchise model and players trying to maintain that professional cash flow as long as possible.

Not Proteas exclusively but I love a good cricket chat all the same.

I think the global T20 system helps a lot. I would hate to see it become a “retirement” league akin to how some view MLS here.

There are so many Aussies and Kiwis in the league. Really great stuff.

There was an off the bench player for the San Antonio Spurs named Fabricio Oberto who used to buy DVDs from me at the electronics store I worked at. I had no idea he was a professional basketball player until I saw him on TV. We were just each other’s DVD guy.

Not happening. That’s a team theme that carries across all iterations of the franchise. Annoying? Yes. Iconic? Also yes.

I’m lucky in Texas. Super Kings, MLC and USA Cricket are all housed inside my state.

Allen’s 151 eclipses the previous record of 134 from Nicholas Pooran. It is also the fastest century in MLC history and the first ever century and a half.
comment in response to post
That score was made by…SFU in game 2 of the 2023 season.

I’ll need to delve more into stats but I can confirm that 269 is the highest ever total (opening of chasing) in the MLC. Previous highest was an opening stint of 215

It’s such an amazing sport and seeing it grow here has been amazing to be a part of.

It’s been a hell of a match today. Absolutely blockbuster stuff from Allen and SFU.

No apologies needed. I agree with you completely.

Upon actually reading the full article, Khan is getting some time off for himself. So good on him. I still stand by the point that my government is terrible though.

Oh I enjoy Test cricket but by the name I’m sure you can see I’m a T20 fan most. I know it is cricket sacrilege to prefer the short form over the traditional but eh.
