This vote was to start the process of the cuts. It WILL come back for a final vote. There are some chances to slow or potentially stop it. Need constant pressure on GOP Focus on GOP swing seats & key committees. Energy & Commerce is where the Medicaid fight will go down. Ways&Means for tax fight.

There are a lot of countries with health restrictions on visas or residency—don’t want to admit anyone with autism or HIV or who’s too fat because they’re going to be a drain on society. Which is vile. Anyway this is the logical corollary. Rich people who “contribute” can go anywhere.

Some “moderate” Republicans flipped & ended up supporting this evil budget resolution. They voted to cut Medicaid & services their constituents depend on. The budget fight isn’t over. But if you are represented by any of these people that voted yes.. make sure they hear from you.

House Rs just passed the budget resolution, the first step in their process to enact a bill that'd kick millions off Medicaid & cut SNAP down to just $1.60 per person per meal on avg while cutting taxes for the top 0.1% by $278k - all while increasing the debt 🧵on what's to come and WHERE TO FIGHT

Hey folks, check out this amazing project and support this Kickstarter if y'all can. I am.

I taught a coworker about the kombucha lady meme today.

I like it here but there are some accounts that act as left-wing hysteria mongers in a way that reminds me of how big right wing influencers on x whip up their bases remember: a good journalist will make it clear how they source claims (no, there are not only 3 staffers at yosemite right now)

Stop reposting this. It's wrong. The news out of Yosemite is horrific, but this is incorrect. (Former Yosemite ranger here, still connected to folks in the park.) About a dozen employees in Yosemite have lost their jobs. There are still approximately 400 employees in Yosemite.

baby cows are called calves bc it’s half a cow. half cow. calf. no further questions.

I found something from my heart dog, Ralph, who died suddenly in 2022, and am missing him so much today. Sometimes the grief scab gets ripped off and it hurts like it was yesterday.

what if we didn’t turn photos of Musk into memes? what if, since he’s made it clear that one of the greatest desires of the withered and howling void where his heart should be is to “become meme,” we at least deny him that? also i hate his stupid face so much stop making me look at it

Continuing to shout from the rooftop that rising far right sentiment is an international project and to stop treating it as an entirely localized problem

Maybe hating on dick bosses is the great unifier, the thing that brings all Americans together.

another good thing about proportional representation systems is that they raise some barriers to conservatives feeling a sense of shared purpose and destiny with fascists

There are a few places in this country that serve as testing grounds for conservative tactics, places where you can see the future before it arrives elsewhere. Coeur D'Alene, Idaho is one of those places -- I've written about it before This video should scare the absolute shit out of everyone

From our latest: “there are brave Americans who are making it damn clear that we are not just gonna roll over for America’s Hitler or his dorky, deadbeat dad super-villain friend.”

“The pushback in recent days has come not only in highly competitive districts but also in deeply Republican ones, suggesting a broader problem for the party.” www.nytimes.com/2025/02/23/u...

I have work to get to today. Before heading offline, I want to share again that we made a workbook for Let This Radicalize You and if you look on pp. 100-109, you will find a list of countless organizing resources: books, articles, manuals, podcasts etc... It's all there to use.

Wow…I had to double, triple check to make sure this tweet from Senator Smith was real. Rare to see a US Senator tweet like this. Not complaining, just surprising.

Pisses me off that we’re stardust with the gift of conscious existence and having to spend our time on all this bullshit.

Jeffries: hey the GOP controls the government, absolutely nothing i can do, gonna work on my personal book tour Sanders: brb i am going to personally barnstorm strategic GOP house districts and try to peel off 2 votes so we can block Trump's cuts to Medicaid www.commondreams.org/news/bernie-...

Gov. Mills showed precisely the sort of integrity in the face of political pressure that the majority of the party currently lacks. More importantly, she did so extemporaneously and without hesitation from a purple state where this isn't a universally popular position. www.maine.gov/governor/mil...

Social Security has a payment accuracy rate of over 99 percent. Only 0.3 percent of Social Security benefits are improper payments, which are typically caused by mistakes or delays. That's better than any private insurance company. www.cbpp.org/blog/setting...

Reading pope power rankings. Absolutely losing it that the word for eligible popes is "popeable."

Sharing more townhall videos today because they’re giving me hope. THIS is good trouble! Who is this man? I want to shake his hand and buy him a drink.

My Roomba is so bad at its job. It has one job and it's bad at it. It's currently in the kitchen bopping around, not vacuuming, and the app says it's traveling to the kitchen

If you would like to learn how to do this kind of writing, I will teach you. I will, if you have no money, do it for free. I will, if you have some money, invite you to my "writing coach" patreon. I will, if you have an institutional budget, charge a fair workshop rate. Lollardfish @ gmail.

I appreciate this thread by Marco. Only thing I’ll add is it doesn’t take much. Part of what radicalized the VC class was the small amount of power workers got during COVID with increased worker protections and money to take care of their kids from the recovery act.
