A couple of long-standing ideas I picked up from many conversations for a more future and #familyfriendlyAEJMC are to move it out of top US summer vacation season (off-contract for many) and to avoid weekend labor, holding it between Monday and Friday. (e.g. NCA is during the US fall semester).

I’m grateful for AEJMC for supporting me in navigating the choppy waters of professional and personal life. Let’s pay it forward and support all as whole scholars

This the whole *me*: it’s crumbled cheerios in the back seat, lost ballet shoes, a mystery unicorn drawing on the second floor hallway (my children agree: it appeared immaculately), and stressful logistics of finances and scheduling.

I learned to lead thanks to great @aejmcresearch.bsky.social leaders before me; senior scholars invested in me at every stage, offering thoughtful reviews of my work. Across our organization we can speak to a range of needs and experiences and, in paying it forward, we smooth the road to the future

In particular, a lack of transparency by the Times brought about negative attention and decreased team buy-in which could have been entirely avoided. Read all about it in this 🔥🔥open access🔥 manuscript with International Journal of Communication #commsky

So, if you’re not an #AEJMC person, my page will have some “campaign” content over the next weeks (so feel free to snooze me, you could be forgiven for having seen enough campaign content! 😂) #futurefriendlyaejmc

In particular, journalists tend to compare technology to previous ones, assess compliance with journalism's normative mission and reconcile it with newsroom goals for the audience (e.g. will this allow us to reach an audience that really needs us?)

Grateful to @oscarwestlund.bsky.social for trusting us with this SI and mentoring us through this process; and to my great SI team @maxwellfoxman.bsky.social @phoebemaares.bsky.social and @valeriehase.bsky.social who worked diligently and reliably to enhance the contributions of this special issue!

Kudos to past Greg for making the right call. The Sunshine State hasn’t been only sunshine 😂! But I’m so grateful for the opportunities I’ve had here, the chance to flex my adaptability—which is always what I preach—and find myself again in this haven of palm trees

Haha Kyrie has a few songs. Her middle name is Caroline, so she may have a slight preference for “Sweet Caroline”

Yes! We're working on a conceptual piece with Oscar Westlund. She's fantastic!
