For all the people complaining about the cool/cold, it was in the top 1/3 of warmest Mays since 1895 and it was the 8th warmest spring (Mar-May) since 1895.

Last Tuesday, I was set to give a talk on 'climate change in the Northeast' at a retirement home but had to cancel due to hourly job threats. After nearly two weeks of overwhelming uncertainty, today it happened. I was fired from my dream of working at NOAA. I'm so sorry to everyone also affected.

Cold at Chicken Friday to Saturday, with a high of -51F (-46.1C) and low of -57F (-49.4C). Chicken has the lowest average temperature of any community in Alaska in January and often reports the lowest (community) winter temperature in the state. #akwx #Winter2025 @climatologist49.bsky.social
