Der eine konnte sich die Torte danach aus dem Gesicht wischen der andere nicht mehr stehen… und hier geht es auch grundsätzlich um die Frage ob wir überhaupt eine Polizei wollen oder brauchen, die so mit Menschen umgeht

This is completely backwards. Anyone abusing this site can comply just enough to stay below and Hard line you draw. Moderation does not work if you don’t allow for subjective reasons for a ban. (Picture someone flinging feces while shouting”I didn’t cross the red line!”)

Good choice most of the time! But beware idioms/ colloquialisms. Worst example I remember was „Lisa rules“-> „Lisa gibt die Anweisungen“ -> „Lisa gives the orders“… only slightly edging out „isotopes rule!“ -> „Isotopen Spielregeln!“… the German translation will sometimes just not make sense 😅

Start with media you already know. Watch a fave show or movie in the new language. It helps to anticipate the words, meaning and emotion and you can’t completely get lost in the texts
