We applaud the GAE Committee for its 12-4 vote in favor of the Equality Amendment. Thank you to everyone who submitted written testimony, testified in-person before the committee, and supported S.J. 35. This is a monumental step for reproductive and gender justice in CT🎉

We want you to know your rights and be safe when you head to the streets. Take a screenshot of the risk analysis chart for the next time you want to exercise your free speech rights💪

The revocation of the "sensitive locations" policy by ICE & CBP doesn’t remove immigrant students' right to education or schools' duty to protect them. Schools control who enters, and all students deserve safety. Understanding your legal rights and how schools ensure protection is key.

The ACLU of CT collaborated with advocates and challenged elected leaders today at the Fair Haven Community Health Center at a roundtable talk with IRIS CT, Sen. Gary Winfield, Rep. Rosa DeLauro, Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz, and Commissioner Andrea Barton Reeves.

Tabitha, our ED & David ED of @acluct.bsky.social traveled to D.C. to advocate for immigrants' rights. They lobbied Connecticut’s federal delegation, urging swift action to protect those under threat. It’s critical that elected officials at all levels take a firm stand against these inhumane attacks

Regardless of your immigration status in the U.S., you have guaranteed rights under the Constitution. Know your rights and assert them. Independientemente de su estatus migratorio en los Estados Unidos, usted tiene derechos garantizados por la Constitución. Conozca sus derechos y hágalos valer.

Birthright citizenship is guaranteed in our Constitution. It is fundamental to the United States, contributing to its economic, cultural, and political strength. We'll see the Trump administration in court.

We urge the state legislature, AG Tong, and Gov. Lamont to strengthen the Trust Act in the 2025 legislative session to safeguard the rights of immigrant families. This critical law ensures that state and local law enforcement are not used by ICE to further its harmful, destabilizing agenda.

Trans people belong. We see you, we hear you, and we will support you. You belong here🤍

TODAY: A court approved our settlement in a class action lawsuit against the first Trump administration’s separation of married couples and families pursuing lawful immigration status for a spouse at risk of deportation. This settlement provides hope that these harms won’t be repeated.

Our New Haven members collaborated with @acluct.bsky.social and benjerryct for a town hall on protecting civil liberties. The Trump administration's agenda threatens civil rights nationwide. It's vital to stay engaged and united in defending everyone's rights. ✊
