We hear you on this! Sometimes hearings can be scheduled last minute but the good thing is that you can still submit written testimony for a while. It’s important to submit as close to the hearing date as you can to be, though. We’ll do our best to give you as advanced notice as possible!

2️⃣ On Feb. 18th, the CGA Housing Committee will be hearing testimony on the collateral consequences of a criminal record on housing opportunities. We must provide to people living with a record equitable access to housing so that they can grow and thrive within their communities.

1️⃣ On Feb. 14th, the CGA Appropriations Committee will be hearing testimony regarding the state budget. This session, voting rights are up for debate in the budget. We must demand the full funding of our voting rights.

The current narrow focus on isolated incidents only stigmatizes immigrant communities and distracts from the real issue: ICE is being weaponized to create fear, tear apart families, and sow division. Unfortunately, some are using immigration as a political tool to divide us.
