This is vandalism, removing federal funding for museums & libraries. #LibrariesChangeLives ALA statement on White House assault on the Institute of Museum and Library Services

Nothing makes a book more popular than trying to ban it (or in this case trying to ban the author from promoting it). I'm 176th in line to read it at my local library.

"exciting to see this key piece of infrastructure really get the attention that it deserves" @katiecorker.bsky.social on the new non-profit that will run bioRxiv and medRxiv www.nature.com/articles/d41...

Hate that it has come to this, but it's time to consider PubMed vulnerable to enshittification. My latest post @plos.org discusses the lines we need to fight to hold – and alternatives we can rely on internationally: absolutelymaybe.plos.org/2025/02/14/w... #medlibs

Trying to wrap my head around the @acs.org stuff on #Chemsky today. So, "https://www.acs.org/about/diversity.html" has become "https://www.acs.org/about/inclusion.html" and all mentions of the word 'diversity' have been expunged...

Will January ever end?

I've spent the last few hours doing a bit of a revamp on the Library Conferences on BlueSky page. This included finding details of upcoming (& previous) conferences that I wasn't already aware of, updating the description at the top of the page and reorganising it so that 2025 events are at the top.

I'm glad to see this happening.
