Hey Democrats in case you’re curious how your base feels about you right now these are the kinds of messages I get

Yes. But they are missing that much of this has to be performative. That’s what Trump is great at and Dems are awful at. You can’t just tell voters , you have to know how to sell voters. Trump gives sales pitches, Dems show charts. One goes viral. The other is ignored and forgotten

We are in the middle of the most profound crisis of American government since the civil war and our idiotic political media can barely see it. Control of the US has been handed to a totally unelected oligarch whose politics are defined by close association with neo-Nazis and conspiracy theorists

transsexual: hey i’d like to take this harmless drug that makes life worth living america: fuck you *starts a world war*

Popular or not Dems cannot bend on the need for trans people to be treated with basic humanity and respect. If we give up that because the right made trans people unpopular, we give up everything. They’ll dice us group by group like a salami. We die on this hill or we die alone in a ditch

I don't know how to say this any louder THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION IS MORE RADICAL, MORE FASCIST, MORE VIOLENT THAN ANYONE IN MAINSTREAM POLITICS OR MEDIA IS WILLING TO ADMIT OUT LOUD THEY ARE FULLY IN THRALL TO A MOVEMENT OF ONLINE NAZIS THAT WANT TO END AMERICA AND KILL MANY, MANY PEOPLE

Am glad photos like this exist still. We gotta preserve everything of us

Democrats should absolutely be chasing after EVERY Trump abuse, EVERY absurdity. The conventional wisdom that it's a "distraction" and Dems need discipline and focus is completely wrong. That wisdom spreads because it sounds nice, but it's what Dems have done until now, and IT DOESN'T WORK.

had to accept transition as a choice before i could begin to understand i was always like this

supporting trans people is weird cause they don't like, need you to do anything? like they ask you to use their name when addressing to them and that's about it? maybe a hug? to eat something they baked? like, it's significantly harder not to support them.

I know the Democratic base is quiet in terms of organizing but I think there’s a lot of sublimated anger and fear out there looking for a vessel. I’ve talked to a lot of people privately who are like “Why isn’t anyone saying anything? Why aren’t Dems freaking out?”

a man too rich to ever be told no, who as a result devolves into a prepubescent boy

Around the opened fire straight up roarsting them And by “them” haha well… let’s justr say. My chesnits

On a basic level of, like, even being a coherent logical argument, how does “we’ll beat Trump by working with him to turn his presidency into a smashing bipartisan success” even make sense

Every time i’ve upped estrogen dose i spent the next few weeks reaching a level of reality i’ve never seen before

bluesky is for trans people

🌌 Bluesky is for trans people

I feel like I’m seeing way more AI “content” bullshit, and I hate it. What the fuck are we doing here?

I got my first real six-string Bought it at the Five and Dime Played it ‘til my fingers bled Was a cheese grater now I come to think of it

Just making sure: I can’t manually remove someone I am blocking from someone else’s blocklist right? If so, that’s a big negative of the feature - as a journalist I have to follow some people that would be otherwise blocked, meaning I’ll have to unsub from some important blocklists.

For the first couple of years of transition i was consumed by the question of whether i was "woman enough"- now it comes to me in a shrug & i realize that no woman feels woman enough and all women are.

I’ll harp on this forever: it’s a scandal that there’s no media coverage of the astonishingly large and violent white supremacist and neo-Nazi community on Twitter - or the way that community is directly protected and promoted by the site’s owner, one of the world’s most important political figures

The modern-day media environment structurally privileges conflict. That’s because in a highly fragmented media environment it’s impossible to achieve high audience exposure without your ideas being organically repeated by others. People organically discuss conflict more than “pleasant” messaging.

Dems beat Trump by a lot more in 2020 than he beat us in 2024, and the GOP didn't hand-wring about the need to find common ground with us. They treated us like enemies of the entire country and a critical mass of voters were convinced. "We need to compromise and accommodate" is not the lesson here.
