Reading this I do understand how Peter Kyle could be replaced by AI www.theguardian.com/technology/2... but still struggle with how it clearly relates to everyone else and their work. Learn AI seems to mean be aware of tools.

As if…

Humans are bigger... Categorisation and data analysis are used to slice up and divide the vastness of people into chunks that institutions can cope with.

This article is more powerful than the human brain. open.substack.com/pu... Meta plan to create an AI 'more powerful than the human brain'. But that's a LOT easier than you'd think. It also doesn't really mean anything. My latest article explains how #AI #News #Media #Tech

I am not on Twitter, Threads or TikTok and that’s no issue for me or anyone. Be where you choose to be.

#AI as brute force solution to #Usability and #ServiceDesign problems. That making a dinner or flight reservation is hard does not mean AI is needed. However, it is funded and thus becomes the solution.

There’s a view that Bormann was in charge of Nazi Germany because he controlled who got into the physical presence and raging attention of Hitler. Who you place in front of Trump affects what he believes matters.

In local news, the tiny rump of Farage’s discarded party still exists. Green Party won the seat for Stroud council.

How to describe use of technologies that have valid assistive or #accessibility use cases (offering capability to enhance or provide personal capacities) but used by people who just seem rich, lazy and willing to lose their own capacities?

Whatever your personal beliefs on Assisted Dying, we should all be able to agree on 2 fundamentals: No means no. If a patient doesn’t want it, end of discussion. It should never be offered in lieu of care or social supports. If it is, it’s not compassion. It’s eugenics 🧵

Defensive Architecture meets hostile behavior

How you welcome people to a place, digital or physical, or project defines the invitations people can accept and the agency they feel. Walking workshops are simple yet powerful way of exploring this sense of being and meaning.

1971 Doomwatch episode currently on Talking Pictures TV is about regulations, business & economics. A factory developing new metal needs investment to prevent poisonous fumes leaking across town. Is it worth it? Why not leave country & avoid regulation? Is poisoning a city but keeping jobs better?

Amazon Prime Video adverts are both specific and weird for me. I have no aircraft and no need for ground maintenance services and yet I get adverts for AOG (aircraft on ground) partners. Is this because I watched Top Gun Maverick?

One piece of ‘stretchy noodles in workshops’ advice: buy thicker ones if you’re working with people who may be unruly. The thinner the noodle the more it can be used to hold, stretch, let go and flick at another person. Thicker ones just stop.
