QSOFinder: Making It Easier to Connect Over CW Many thanks to Becky (N4BKY) and Mike (N4FFF) who share the following announcement: A New Way to Connect On the Air with CW by Mike (N4FFF) and Becky (N4BKY) Hi everyone! Mike and Becky here, (aka the HamRadioDuo) and we are excited to share a brand…

Re that porn that leaked into the Amateur Radio feed today. I've got #skyfeed set to remove posts with labels (like 'adult') but it only seems to remove self-labeled posts. The post was labeled by Bluesky moderation service, and for some reason those do not get removed. I've posted about that [more]

Have moved posts from Shortwave Radiogram from the general ham feed to the log feed, since that seems to be the topic of almost all that traffic. bsky.app/profile/did:...

@redsolver.dev Hi. I've recently noticed on a new feed I started, "content labeled by bluesky moderation service" gets by skyfeed 'remove if item has labels' block. Meanwhile stuff that I believe is probably self-labeled, does not. Is there a way to remove moderation-labeled content? #skyfeedback

Sad day for NOAA, and the Country: 800+ DOGE’d. Here in Colorado, Amateur Radio Operators have helped NOAA monitor severe weather conditions as part of its weather spotter program. Last week the spotter classes were cancelled. This week firings. Better up your weatherproofing game people.

San Bernardino County Public Works says the National Trails Highway rail crossing at Amboy is closed for repairs as of 2/26 morning. But when I went thru at 2pm Thurs it was open, no sign of work. If you're coming up Amboy Rd from Twentynine Palms, beware. #29Palms dpw.sbcounty.gov/operations/r...

As of right now the NWS radio weather reports - used by thousands of boaters and mariners every day - is not broadcasting, at least in Miami. Tuned into 162.550 on my ham radio, as I regularly do.. it is radio silence.

@deserttrumpet.bsky.social FYI I've started a feed to capture posts about the towns of the Morongo Basin. bsky.app/profile/ad6g...

For some unfathomable reason I've launched another feed; "Morongo Basin". Takes in posts about Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, Twentynine Palms, Morongo Valley, Yucca Mesa, and such. (No relation to my ham radio feeds) bsky.app/profile/ad6g...

Welp, I've tightened up on the SOTA keyword on the ham feed. Too much whack-a-mole on that one. It'll show but only if words like: MHz, kHz, radio, antenna, summit are in the same post. Of course anything tagged with the usual ham as relates to radio triggers will insure it shows up.

Personally, my money's on the telegrapher's "ham-fisted" origin, which is why I don't all-caps "ham" radio. But I won't scold hams, if HAMs won't scold me. :) #HamRadio #AmateurRadio

For 136 years, Sandy Island was on maps—1.5x longer than Manhattan. 🌊 There was just one problem: it was never real. The first people to debunk it? Not scientists. Ham radio operators. 🎙️📡 Read this wild mystery: https://buff.ly/4aRcKlF #TravelHistory #PhantomIsland
