Often it is, sometimes it isn't. :)

Seriously? (I can't tell if you're joking.) I'll DM the link to you if you want.

Follow up; discovered, I think, the trick for removing bluesky moderation service labeled posts. Or labeled accounts. Or something. Looking for documentation of this stuff gets you either picture books for dummies or 50 pages of API gibberish in god knows what programming language. 🤷‍♂️

FYI there are several ham radio feeds on bluesky. Search feeds for "amateur radio".

AI, ain't it great? For some reason I'm reminded of the time I stopped myself just before asking a Home Depot employee if they had any black caulk.

…apparent bug to the to the skyfeed folks, but no response. If you see a post like that (porn falsely tagged #AmateurRadio), please report such posts for having unrelated tags, I guess.

…usually respond with just their call. If you hear a succession of call signs being thrown out on one frequency, most likely they are answering a CQ. You may not hear the CQ station, either because of propagation conditions, or they are working "split" frequencies.

In the US it's pretty common on repeaters to just say your call sign or "AD6G listening". A lot of hams treat that as a CQ call, and typically we don't say CQ on a repeater. On HF CQ is more common. In the case of a HF station calling CQ, especially in a contest/pile up, answering stations [more]

My mother used to feed roadrunners raw hamburger balls too. They would show up on the back patio in Yucca Valley and loudly demand it. :)

I recommend hamstudy.org Registering there will also set you up to take the exam online, if that's the way you decide to go.

You went to a hamfest thinking you weren't going to buy anything?

Not to butt in but, to whom are you addressing?

Yes please.

When I wuz a boy, if you wanted a center console in your car you had to make one out of ham radios! AND WE LIKED IT!

It's not all like that, but there is a lot of that, sadly.

Sweet. I started watching narrowboat shows & got hooked. Top thing on my bucket list is visiting the UK again & trying some narrowboating, even if just a tour boat. Was there 35 years ago, had no idea there was such a thing. The tour bus must have driven over hundreds of canal bridges - no mention.

Also lightning ground stakes are always solid. Obviously mechanical strength is needed. But even a tiny bit of inductance is bad in a lightning ground. If hollow had less I think that's what would be in use. Again, not an expert.
