retconned out of existence

are you going to end up reading silver age legion and pzh at the same time at this rate

ooooooh

you can slowly (re)introduce the scrapped guys to slowly bloat your cast in a fun way

having the sneakers while with the legion also gives him an out of time look as well. the time traveler is ever so slightly out of place in their group

i just think kal superboy should wear a slightly baggy version of the classic suit, lean into the imagery of him still growing into it. maybe swap the boots for sneakers as the biggest change
comment in response to post
this would make a good kon suit. me and my buddy where literally talking about how he should have gotten a pzh style uniform variant of the superboy suit

def collides with my thoughts on wanting to keep the time between the 21st and 31st centuries vague as well. a lot of stuff happens but we aren't allowed to see it and a lot of that history is just tragically lost
comment in response to post
if i was writing i would keep that extremely vague. maybe gesture at him being in a completely different galaxy not aware of how much time had passed in his absence.

when i think abt immortal superman i can only rly imagine him disappearing for thousands of years if not millions, reappearing in a far future near unimaginable by our standards. a completely different galaxy. the 31st century is a world without superman, and thats key to a lot of how its functions

if he's not dead he's definitely gone and has been gone for a long time. any possible reunion would also be with much older legionnaires, if he returns in time to meet them again at all.

i watched the dub on tv as a kid so i have a level of familiarity with it but ive yet to revisit it for real

with all new krypton ideas im always torn between anything and the "okay but what if we just did the best episode of the losh cartoon again" lmao
comment in response to post
could work! another part of me is also partial to new krypton not even being created until superboy finds the bottle in the long abandoned fortress of solitude with the legion's help. like the cartoon ep that i like i lot
comment in response to post
i do like the idea of the kryptonian/earthling hybrids having to actively train up their powers like you described. im also partial to a lot of them being psychics/espers and having potential for powers similar to kell-el from the cartoon, and even a level of magical inclination. very diverse.
comment in response to post
i think it is vital to have new krypton very secluded in its own corner away from The Plot during the legion's era just to give the other planets (and legionnaires) room to be important. krypton isn't very involved in the fucked up political decay of the UP
comment in response to post
im going to have to bounce these ideas around a bit. i think they might clash a bit with my thoughts on earth as an empire in the 31st century but also its a long timeline lots of time for lots of stuff to happen
comment in response to post
ah HA! you've fallen for my trap of letting me place my daxamite headcanons into your brain! now any daxamite related things you write will be more inclined towards my preferences
comment in response to post
also related: members of the daxamite white triangle cult do not recognize the populous of new krypton as "true kryptonians" as they prefer to mythologize a lost krypton of the past that never actually existed
comment in response to post
related: new krypton in the 31st century is a tucked away planet that is a mixed earthling/kryptonian population where very few ppl there can access full kryptonian yellow sun powers (but have potential for a lot of other, different powers)
comment in response to post
as for the meat of the actually legion days idk i feel like my thoughts are less original there. i kinda like the idea that most ppl outside the legion dont beleive that hes the real deal and think the legion just somehow manages to grab a kid off new krypton
comment in response to post
he's prolonged his adolescences into his early 20s which is both the norm for the era and also something he specifically needed, ambiguous if his delayed matured is a kryptonian thing or unique to him. but he has to grow up now
comment in response to post
i def have this idea of when superboy leaves the legion for the final time its Hard bc he's become increasingly aware of his rapidly incoming supermanhood and it scares him. he doesn't feel ready to grow up. he feels the temptation to peter pan it forever with the legion
comment in response to post
as he gets older its a safe place to experiment with relationships and intimacy. downside is that he highkey compartmentalizes a lot of that stuff as things he's only allowed to have in the 31st century (this ties into my thoughts also on kal growing up in a small town during the aids crisis)
