Another GOP policy on the verge of becoming laws that is so cruel and pointless that political normies will simply not believe you if you try to explain it to them.

Document posted by National Science Foundation program director on LinkedIn says not only that grants are being terminated by DOGE but that they're being deleted from databases. Presumably to make it difficult or even impossible to undo DOGE's illegal actions.

I was thinking the same

Congress is back from recess after the weekend. Will anyone file articles of impeachment for expelling a U.S. citizen who is 4 years old and also has cancer.

@benjaminkabak.com Jazz Chisholm making a poor defensive fundamental choice? Another Boone special

reporting on this has really got to get better about communicating the magnitude of the breach here. if you read the nyt article with minimal context, you would have no sense that this was watergate-level impeachable misconduct

I kinda glossed over this yesterday, but it's directly from a Project 2025-like proposal. Why in the world is a *Democratic* mayoral candidate suggesting charging for library services? Get this guy all the way outta here.

Ras Baraka and Steven Fulop are the only gubernatorial candidates willing to say this $11b environmentally-disastrous boondoggle is a bad idea, for those still considering other candidates

"they are going to end cancer research and kill its top scientists" is the kind of thing that would get you laughed out of the writer's room on saturday morning cartoons and it is literally what's happening

Lincoln Restler is one of only a few consistently good members of the Council. Amazing how little things like "reading bills" and "understanding consequences" or "talking to policy experts" and "having principles" go a long way.

A 50% increase on the cost of goods for most Americans is still disastrous and basically ends trade between the two biggest global economies? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills watching the markets rally.

To everyone that said Democrats like Van Hollen were making a political mistake in defending due process, you were wrong, and we shouldn’t even need a poll to tell us that.

This, to me, is the most obvious messaging opportunity *ever* for Democrats. Chuck Schumer should be on the ground in Arkansas within 24 hours and Democrats in both houses of Congress should be filing measures to provide federal funds to assist in recovery efforts. Force Republicans to say no.

Shit like this is a big reason I roll my eyes at endless messaging debates — Republicans are killing independent media and building their own alternative reality ecosystem with little response from liberal funders or Democratic leadership

Highlights how Cuomo could be extorted to comply with the Trump agenda as easily as Adams was.

Do not rank Cuomo and tell everyone you know we don't need this disgusting human being running the city.

Hey look. Telling the truth. Not apologizing for it. Hope this catches on!

@2avesag.as howsmydrivingny.nyc/z362ycck saw this car this evening on Flatbush inching forward into the crosswalk despite the light having just turned red. This search result did not surprise me

@nyctsubway.bsky.social the elevator at Hoyt Street for the 2/3 trains has fecal matter in it

@aoc.bsky.social and @sanders.senate.gov are not "capitalizing" on voters' fears, they're showing us how to fight back against Donald Trump's billionaire-backed assault on working people across the country. I wouldn't expect the guy accepting $250k from Bill Ackman to understand that.

Powerful piece ==>

hosting a lot of racist chuds on his podcast to chase engagement and pretend you can "bridge" with intractable fascists wasn't a distraction tho

The American people built a way to file taxes for free and now they're burning it down to enrich the predatory tax-prep industry who helped Trump get elected. Hail to the thief.

I feel like solving tuberculosis should be something that everyone in the universe should agree is worth spending money on

took a few days off for my brain and one pretty alarming observation i have is just how easy it is to not hear about the bad stuff that is happening if you don't explicitly dip into specific information streams (not a new problem but feels orders of magnitude more siloed than even 2-3 years ago)

It certainly looks like Elon Musk’s henchmen stole all the data from the agency which protects workers rights, tried to cover it up, and then threatened to kill the guy who blew the whistle on it.

You definitely don’t have to refuse to vote for Cuomo just because he’s a sexual predator, you can also refuse to vote for him because he killed thousands of people and then covered it up

I am sorry to say it, but this is probably one of the most important things you can repost today.

Seems like a good day to remind everyone that Auschwitz — a complex of over 40 concentration and extermination camps — was not located in Nazi Germany either.

This is horrifying and should, in any reasonable world, lead to immediate impeachment. On a hot mic, before the media arrived, starting around 7:15 on the time index, Trump tells Bukele he is going to start sending "homegrown criminals" to El Salvadoran gulags. This is fascism.
