An absolute all-timer of a rant. I honestly thought blood was going to shoot out of his ears.

It was always the long game. Be friends, sign treaties, ally together during wars (cool so far), agree to a border (wait…), install band councils (hang on!), send in the army over a golf course (WTF!?)…

It is an amazing failure to read the room, and a truly mind-numbing commitment to “just asking questions/both sides have a point” journalism.

I have said exactly this. Too many people treat politics like they’re cheering for a team instead of something they should be actively invested in because it impacts on every aspect of their lives.

Like the opposite of Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan in ‘The Trip’.
I’d definitely watch.

“It’s a swan.” Perfect line delivery by a background character that shouldn’t have had anything to do with the plot but somehow critically factored in to the climax. Genius at all levels.

Oh my god you just brought the sense memory of those chocolate chip muffins to the front of my brain and I’m now trying not to drool.

It’s truly awesome and highly recommended. It’s also literally the only food available at 5am!

It’s a cult. Jim jones made his cult drink poisoned kool-aid and they all died.

I frequently transfer between Canada and the uk in Iceland. Almost inevitably I have a hotdog and beer at 5am. It’s great.

I maintained my immunity except to the extent that cheering against the USA really mattered to me. I said in conversation earlier, and truly meant it, that it could have been Zimbabwe or Bolivia playing against the USA and I would have been equally invested.

Came here to say that. He's a selfish idiot who cannot imagine that, with him injured, someone else might be better.

Being against the USA seems to imply strange bedfellows. But the enemy of my enemy is sometimes a chauvinistic white supremacist settler nation north of the 49th parallel.

LOVE Ivy's, haven't been there in a while since the last time I was back in Victoria. If I get back there this year, I'll look for a copy of your book.

This is the stuff that us cis-het people are missing out on. We will never know how awesome it is.

Not on security cameras, but I walked my dog in the forest on the Niagara Escarpment today, and heard a literal high-pitched cry then saw a red-tailed hawk swoop past, maybe 5-6 meters from me. It was amazing.
