This is key to understanding the directionless of Starmerism. They wanted to win the general election because if they hadn't there would've been a leadership election and the jobs of their right-wing network would have been at risk again. They never had a project for government.

It appears that Afghans who fought side by side with U.K. special forces have been blanket vetoed for immigration to the UK - because they could probably then be called as witnesses to British war crimes. In case you were still under the illusion that the U.K. are automatically the good guys.

As Wes Streeting trumpets the role of the private sector in “saving the NHS”, it’s worth remembering what happened the only time a whole NHS hospital was handed to the private sector to run. The care failings - gaining the worst CQC rating ever - were *chilling* (& barely reported at the time):

Someone said that the generational disconnect wrt finances can be boiled down to the fact that things that were once luxuries (personal tech, gym memberships, etc) are now cheaper and more accessible than ever and essentials (rent, food, medical care ) are more expensive and inaccessible than ever

1) Tactics, like art, are highly susceptible to aesthetic trends and social reinforcement mechanisms that create hierarchies of value. For example, Pep's style of high-pressing, high-line, possession-heavy football was the 'correct way,' a few years ago. It was that way when Arteta started ...

List of players who could not play for Spurs today in the loss to Villa: Vicario, Romero, van de Ven, Udogie, Maddison, Solanke, Johnson, Odobert, Dragusin, Werner, Richarlison. That’s 7 starters and 11 players in total. Don’t tell me it’s an ‘excuse.’

Top reasons 2024 Labour voters are abandoning the party: 1) Cuts to winter fuel payment 2) Not reduced cost of living 3) Not improved public services 4) Broken too many promises 5) Not stood up to the rich and powerful (YouGov polling)

Hilarious, absolutely HILARIOUS how we are told we can’t tax the richest in the UK as they’ll all leave… And we also block UN efforts to clamp down on tax avoidance by the rich internationally 😅😅😂😂😭😭😭 We are SUCH suckers bylinetimes.com/2025/02/04/k...

This is officially one of the most idiotic things Labour could do. Playing to Reform emboldens Reform. You can't out anti-immigration them. Labour has both the majority and time to implement policies which actually benefit people, and put the case for immigration. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

It’s happened again

Starmer's own team are briefing that their man is a useless waste of space. The truth is Starmer did literally everything the Labour Right wanted him to do. That's why his government is a disaster. New post 👇 www.owenjones.news/p/keir-starm...

Once again, the sanctimonious @theguardian.com contributes to the dehumanization of #Palestinians by granting Israeli hostages names while reducing Palestinians to mere numbers.

Whenever the media or transphobes talk about mental health and suicide rates of trans kids, they are always deliberately concealing the fact that trans healthcare brings trans kids to the same place as cis kids on these things

Retail theft is less than 0.5% of turnover. This crucial fact is never mentioned in the media puff pieces claiming there is a crisis. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

imagine you went to the trouble of getting a new car because of ULEZ and now the government wants to land 300,000 more planes in London. GTFO

Not simple at all. America kills murderers and remains one of the world's murder hotspots. Countries who treat prisoners humanely, and have abolished the death penalty, have the lowest murder rates

NEW: Joseph Rowntree Foundation report warns 1 in 3 children will still be in poverty in England by the end of the decade — even with high economic growth. Only Scotland is expected to see child poverty rates fall by 2029. Scotland has pledged to scrap the two-child limit on benefits from 2026.

Those who armed Israel must go to jail. Those who used platforms to justify Israel's mass slaughter must have their reputations destroyed. If not, we will normalise depravity which will lead to the ruin of us all. New column 👇 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Julie Gray, wife of Holocaust survivor Gidon Lev, who joined Musk in his visit to Auschwitz speaks out. She says that Musk felt nothing during the tour & only "cared about how he looked." She shared this with me privately shortly after the tour, and I'm grateful she made her thoughts public.

I don't mean to harp on something we're all acutely aware of, but I just did some math. When Spurs play the second leg against Liverpool, it will have been their 19th match in 67 Days. It took 110 days for them to play their final 19 matches last season. Match fatigue is real. #COYS

Half the side collapse on the pitch at the final whistle. I don’t think I’ve ever been more angry at our club front office, DoF, etc. This is almost a kind of malpractice. We are currently in a transfer window.
