In The Strategic Advance, we’re kicking off a two-part series on #SWOT analysis—one of the simplest yet most powerful strategic planning tools. Whether you need a refresher or are new to strategy, SWOT is a great way to jumpstart your planning. Check out part one: bit.ly/4k6vstw

After previously praising R.F. Kuang for her growth as a writer between The Poppy War and Babel, I'm sad to report I've DNF'd The Dragon Republic. The characters feel far more childish in their actions and conversations than the first book, despite what they've faced. Very disappointing. #booksky

To close out my 2024 reading, I'm close to finishing Babel by R.F. Kuang. While I do have some criticisms, I've largely enjoyed the book and its commentary on colonialism. I read the Poppy War immediately before Babel and it's inspiring to see her growth as a writer between the two books. #booksky

Fantastic Planet Money episode about the impact a country's organizational structures have on its ultimate economic success or failure. The episode once again demonstrates the importance of investing in organizational development.

Data visualization is a topic I spend a lot of time promoting with colleagues. Here's a great article from the New York Times on some of their best graphics in 2024. 2024: The Year in Visual Stories and Graphics. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...
