"Knob" and "bell end" are two of my favorite Britishisms

... unless that voice is your play testers. In which case, listen!

Make something people enjoy so much they want to share it with others. That's it.
You have 1.2M followers on Instagram. Most of us "indie creators" start at 0. Leverage that base as much as you can.

Yeah, but what is "fun"? That's the big question.

Easter egg, you can see little ET's in the corner if you look closely!

My wife just texted me this. It's gone.

I don't know what it actually did but it was so fun!

The awkwardness of childfree people around babies is always something to behold. They know the right lines, but you can tell their heart just isn't in it.

I actually did G5 to G2 to take advantage of the tricky queen pin, but yours is much simpler. :)

It’s a hell of a non-denial

Did you go to any previous ones?
I had a very different experience at 10, 20, and 30.

He made such a big deal about crowd size last time, he knows that everyone is going to focus on that. So moving it indoors will be a better show (as opposed to a wide open empty DC mall).

At my ELO and playing blitz I never resign games for exactly this reason.

What about spreading a true fact but in a deceptive manner (like lacking important context, etc)?
Not everything is a “lie” or a “truth”.
comment in response to
post
Kinda. "Lying" suggests intent and malice. But lots of people "spread misinformation" without malice.

Yeah that's what was thinking. My first Steam purchase according to this page is in like 2011, but my Steam account is from 2003.

I think "illusion of choice" is a subset of what I'm talking about.
I think I'm more generally referring to the concept of games "cheating" in some way to create a fun situation. That includes illusion of choice, but extends to other aspects as well (coyote time, hit point manipulations, etc).

Did he charge you a fee?

It took me a long time to realize that games don't have to be fun directly. It is sufficient to simulate a fun experience.
That sounds dumb, but I don't know how to make it sound smarter.

I always took it as a cautionary tale about staying in one's own lane. But I'm not very good at critical artistic analysis.

I'm pretty sure I started college in 1993 with a 2400bps modem. So my 1995 I would have asked for maybe a 14.4 or 28.8?
comment in response to

A faster modem.

Good for you, dude. That's incredible.
My 2025 resolution is to play every one of your monthly games.

Yeah. At some point I saw a some infographic that was a guide to watching them in order.
I got like 10 minutes into Guardians of the Galaxy before giving up.
You get out what you put in I guess, and I just don’t want to invest that much.

I also remember playing some pirated alpha version downloaded from a BBS. No monsters, but insane graphics (for the time). And a chair that spun around…?

I’ll never forget where I was when I first played it. Midnight in December in my dorm room, pounding away at FTP sites that only allowed like 20 people at a time.
