Asked riders today about having the first MotoGP at the same venue as the last test. Some agreed that it would be better for 'the show' to be elsewhere (more of a wildcard element with settings and references etc on the newish bikes). But, as ever, it becomes a cost thing.

That was a very Ai Ogura debut MotoGP race performance: high standards, coolness, consistency. The natural 'unflappableness' could be a big asset for the Japanese this season

So many laps and drama still to come in 2025 MotoGP but this could be a campaign of admiration instead of all-out action. Marc Marquez has rolled our early and the gate has been unbolted. How soon can he set the new standard and how long will everybody else be searching for catch-up gains?

New step for MXGP with the opening press conference video. Good professional presentation and execution, and great to hear from a wide spread of players as the season launches: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWWX...

Bit of an intimidating pathway to enter the MotoGP Buriram International Circuit this morning. Amazingly friendly people and so pumped to have the sport here.

Fans can now win the identical Triumph Street Triple giving to the Moto2 Trophy winner. They only have to vote and register for their top 3 riders each GP through the Triumph platform

First MotoGP session done. Predictably #93 top but Trackhouse's Davide Brivio can perhaps feel a little smug with Ai Ogura showing his adaptation. 6th fastest and impressive from the Japanese (although Trackhouse could have signed Jack Miller as well and he was P4 on the Yamaha!)

More views at the BRIC and the first visit to pitlane in MotoGP 2025

Ducati life this morning in the Buriram MotoGP pitlane.

Won’t be missing these bikes here in Buriram MotoGP this weekend.

New Gulf livery for Trackhouse. Looks spot-on. The brand itself wants to appeal to a new audience. MotoGP

Decent interview and article here by Chad with Marc Marquez for the Telegraph: www.telegraph.co.uk/motogp/2025/...

Humbug.

Incredible. Second visit for Martin to the Dexeus hospital in Barcelona after yet another injury. Rains and pours etc. This one sounds pretty nasty as well. MotoGP 2025 starts without its reigning champion this weekend

MXGP at Loket secured for the next half decade but it sounds like a stronger bond with the Czech federation means other Grands Prix in the country could be a possibility.

Called Tim Gajser the other day. The 2025 MXGP title favourite reflected on a near-perfect 2024 (& what he could have changed) as well as THAT move at Matterley for the MXoN. Have a read & a subscribe for free: open.substack.com/pub/ontracko...

Oh so pretty. Loftus Rd under the lights and even better with a 4-0 thrashing dealt to the oppo. Sorry to my first love for spending the 14th with the second…

#MotoGP pre-season testing is in the books and @motomatters.com and @adamwheeler99.bsky.social recorded a #PaddockNotes show to get you up to date on Ducati's bike decision, Marquez domination and who's been making progress in Buriram www.patreon.com/posts/paddoc...

A quick interview this evening with one of the nicest guys in MXGP and, with the recent developments, a sure-fire bet for the 2025 title. A bit of talk about ‘that move’ at Matterley Basin last year

An underwhelming day of MotoGP testing in Thailand? Progress from Aprilia perhaps but Ducati still don't have a GP24-topper with the full 25 version. Yamaha had a front end pickle with tyre choice (at least #20 did) and KTM remain a mystery. Tomorrow is about set-up for the Grand Prix.

MXGP and Jeffrey Herlings: a reflection, as #84 is confirmed to miss the opening round of the series recovering from his right ACL reconstruction. ontrackoffroad.substack.com/p/herlings-q...

Interesting numbers from Gresini. Earned media value (basically, what it would have cost to buy the same amount of coverage) of €445 million. Which is a lot. And you have to put a large part of that down to the rider that just left the garage...

Another weird weekend of supercross racing but the European motocross scene accelerated to pace as well. For all the news and results there is only one place to look (Jonathan and Andy do a good job...) gatedrop.com

Second set of surgical procedures on the same area of the body for Diggia but both rider and team expect him to be on the grid for the MotoGP season opener. The Italian will have to hope that the choices made by Marquez and Bagnaia for the GP25 will suit his wishes for the first phase of the year

Yikes.

Watching the MotoGP 2025 Launch and it’s been really quite impressive. Good presentation standards, very enthusiastic public (and quite a lot of them in Bangkok) and decent TV editing so it doesn’t feel that repetitive. The series is making steps forward to be more accessible.

All the Alex Marquez hype might need calming. Good rider, decent guy, great bike for 2025 (the title-winning GP24) but AM73 has always been quick and a fan of Sepang and his brother described the riding conditions on the final day as "unreal".

The worst possible start to 2025 MotoGP for the world champion. That's also two Aprilia riders returning to Europe for surgery after less than one day of action at the Sepang test. Just a new rider and a rookie (although Ogura has been impressive) left to work with the RSGP in Malaysia

The Happy (MXGP) Hangover? Asking Nestaan Husqvarna's Rasmus Jorgensen about a sensational 2024 in MX2, inter-team rivalry, the loss of Lucas Coenen, next steps for Kay de Wolf, the incoming Liam Everts and more: ontrackoffroad.substack.com/p/the-happy-...

A typically honest and frank interview with Jeffrey Herlings this morning. His own ACL surgery does not seem to have dented his unbreakable thirst to keep winning MXGP Grands Prix.

The dark side of moto hits for Jett Lawrence with ACL surgery and effectively a year pause in his career. Everything seemed fairytale as a Pro for a remarkable racer until this point but this injury confirmation caps a tough spell where he has also been allegedly duped by his agent.
