Folks are saying it won’t be out on VOD in the US until April so here’s hoping it surprise drops in its home country (this is the problem with doing a list like this by Oscar guidelines…sometimes that shit does not come out here yet it’s eligible.

Yeah, I'm trying my best to make it hard for them to not give me the right info, but I'll take whatever I can get.

Update: I bought all dressed and voodoo chips and nutella, I think I might've gone overboard.

God he really does have goofy dad vibes huh? Never noticed it until now but he totally has that energy. I respect it (was raised by a goofy dad myself!)

I appreciate that. It helps knowing that I'm not just talking at a wall, that I do have a real audience that may one day be large enough for me to be able to make a living and do this thing I love. But it is scary being in this space where I'm known enough to get threats, but not enough to pay bills

Like I want to do this, it feels like all I can do, but I am living life in a way where I feel constantly anxious and exhausted. All I can promise is if I get in a position to give back to all of you who've supported me through this someday, I will.

Genuinely I hate to say this, but it is getting to a point where every news story, every new process, every new monetary wall makes creating and living in general for me harder. And I can't promise I'll keep up with everything. I'm trying my best. I'm sorry.

Its a gamble. Its all based on if I get a sympathetic clerk or not.
I just gotta wait at this point, and I'll only know the outcome once its done.
And even if it all turns out good, that's still not gonna feel great BECAUSE IT SHOULDN'T BE THIS HARD ARRGHGHHGH
sorry been a bit...on edge.

Like it was one of those things where I just...cannot leave the country unless I try...so I have to try. I have no matching passport to go with, so its worth a shot. If any fuckery happens, I'll try to get in contact with the State of Massachusetts legislature. Otherwise...its all I got.

Like fuck Trump, fuck the government, I'm rooting for whatever gets people to flip over cop cars in my city in jubilation!

Listen...you're not wrong but also my Boston sports pride requires me to root for kicking Canada's ass in hockey.

True but I know that can sometimes hurt attendance numbers overall. Like how the Rays falter in attendance exclusively because they play two cities over from Tampa.

I feel like I should ask: did you have a team in Canada, or were you franchiseless and maybe open to a new organization? Because its a great season to get into the NHL.

Also obvious comment...I'm glad you guys are getting an arena in Ottawa proper, bc its a shame how hard it was for fans to actually get into the game.

I'd actually love that! Get Ullmark that Cup! I loved him here in Boston and I still remember those bear hugs fondly. I just hope Swayman, McAvoy, and Pasta can form a solid core to build around once the boys club in management stops being so fucking awful

Listen, as much as I will laugh at Canada still not winning the stanley cup because it is a hilarious meme, as long as its not Habs or Leafs or Rangers, I'm fine with any other team hoisting the cup frankly. I only really hate those three. And any defending champ I guess.

I am not the biggest fan of Binnington, but yeah when he's on a heater, he's one of the best in hockey. Trust me...I remember the 2019 Stanley Cup Finals. He played tit for tat with a prime Tuuka there.

Hell, since my Bruins aren't in the Stanley Cup mix, I would not mind Edmonton winning the Cup for Canada. I mean, it'd ruin one of the funniest running jokes in hockey but hey...we can just transfer that to laughing at the Leafs. Something BOTH countries can get behind.

Nah, Boston would still survive if New England left the states. I'd support that too, be less scary than being under Trump. Most of our country wouldn't exist the way it does without slavery either, that doesn't mean that's good.

I'm losing my rights. I'm a trans woman. I don't think Auston Matthews is the reason. I think jingoist christian extremist white supremacist nationalist hatred is why I am losing rights. Its not the earth we live on and have drawn stupid borders on...its the people in charge.

Ignore them, Eric. This person tried arguing America was the most free and prosperous nation in the world prior to Trump, they're delusional.

I do. But I'd also say denying that America hasn't played a role in horrifying actions on the global stage is something I'd never do.
I see people, logos, icons.
To me I have a connection to the area of land and people I commune with. That's my community. Fuck a nation.

So we are defined by a majority no matter our opinion? Like...what was I, individually, supposed to do to change this outcome if I am responsible?
comment in response to
post
Like I think its a thousand more times helpful to go out in the street with protesters to push policies, or to go actually provide some of the support to your community you think the government should be doing, while still loudly criticizing the lack of support from them than to balance it on sports
comment in response to
post
I mean I agree in a way that white men must be actively pushing back against the horrors of America to not support it.
I as a trans woman, feel terrified about my rights under this government.
I just also think its best to show that with actual action, not symbolic gestures.
comment in response to

So the 75 million people who didn't support Trump are...also responsible for the government? Because what? They didn't vote hard enough? Were they supposed to campaign FOR Harris?
comment in response to

Yeah, again, sportswashing is something the regime enacts to cover something up, its not "rooting for the US when the olympics are on." Is it useful for nationalism? I mean yes, but my personal enjoyment in my own home is my own enjoyment, I know I hate the US govt, and this does not distract me.
comment in response to
post
You seem to be missing the "by a government or individual" part that identifies that THE PERSON DOING THE BAD THING MUST BE INVOLVED IN THE EVENT ITSELF FOR IT TO BE SPORTSWASHING

Do you think Trump owns the NHL or had any say over this tournament that was created a year ago under Biden?
