And MM is supposedly one of the more rational ones on the right, yet still she comes up with that comparison.
She must be talking about Obama’s unchecked power when he wore the tan suit!

Ha ha, that definitely looks like important info. Clearly, we should bump up our expectations of CK’s performance from here on out.

If you suspect social media is pulling you down, I would encourage you to read Max Fisher’s _The Chaos Machine_. I knew social media was bad — it’s so much worse than I had imagined. His argument and research are unavoidably convincing.

As much as I’d love to take credit for a good article, this was written by @maks-razzball.bsky.social.
But I do agree that PCA is going to regress pretty heavily once pitchers start taking advantage of his free swinging outside the zone.

The problem is he’s actually right about the voters. They keep proving it.

Fully agree. The letter is bizarre and stupid, but the red pen treatment seems to have no point that I can find. Is the editing pointing out that she lacks the education to be SOE? Was there doubt about that before the letter? Just confusing in total

I am indeed lovely.
But maybe do me a favor and don’t ask anyone I know…

Is the app worse this year for you guys? It’s always been annoying, but mine seems really glitchy this year. And the app just randomly resets to the “This game has not begun” advertising spiel.

Preach. I’m loving the trash fire I’m watching even if it’s flaring slowly.

Seems like a reasonable bet. I was mostly too scared of his injury history, so I didn’t get many shares. I’ll be happy to regret not picking him though — I’d love for him to be an exciting player again.

Can we fire Jed yet?
DANSBY!!
Oh shit, we got Kyle Tucker!
Analysts think the Cubs will be “good” this year. Whatever.
Sell the team!
Can we fire Jed yet?

Straight up, I’d go Raleigh. But based on current cost of each, I’d definitely go Langeliers since I don’t see a big enough skill difference to pay the elevated cost for Raleigh. I think we know who Raleigh is but can still dream of untapped upside on Langeliers.

I have a number of D&H teams with about 2/3 of that lineup. Here’s hoping…

Nah, I’ll stick with OKC. But they’re both beauts.

This album is a good reason Radiohead gets the “artistic” label that fans either flock to or resist like it’s a contagious disease. It’s a fantastic record though even if it made Radiohead fans (like me) basically unbearable.

I keep sending up little prayers the Cubs will fire Jed and replace him with Ng. I think fans of organizations would follow her into any burning building she wants because they know that she’ll work to actually rebuild the site.

Welcome to ‘Merica.

Young obviously isn’t a 2B though, so if that’s what you have to have there, sure.

Turang probably does provide relative value there. If you’re a fan of Gimenez or Stott around that area, then Turang is a no brainer to me. I never understood picking him in the 120s, but this makes sense. But Jacob Young is also waiting over 100 picks later for a similar skill set.

Acuna could have gotten 500 mil if he had waited a few years, but he didn’t want to risk injury. Albies could have probably gotten 250 mil. Vlad is coming from money so wouldn’t need to take the guaranteed money so as not to risk injury.

It seems to me AA made a business of taking advantage of impoverished backgrounds of Latin players. Underpays to Acuna and Albies were smart business, but he was able to do it so those guys could secure a future, guaranteed. Both guys settled for around 100 mil. Vlad wouldn’t have done that.

I respect the full-on commitment to the “steals can be found later” idea. You went avg base with homers — just damn good hitters route.

100% agree that Correa is a walking injury, but I’m not sure that Bichette doesn’t deserve a little health doubt too. And with my expectation that Bichette’s SBs will be closer to Correa’s projected # than to his own, I’m all for the discount.
comment in response to

I think Bichette is due for a bounceback this year, but I don’t buy the steals. He’s had 2 years of double digit steals and more than two seasons at <5. Why do we keep thinking he’s going to steal again and then excuse him when he doesn’t?
comment in response to

I agree with the idea that Garcia has untapped upside, and I think his chance to outpace projected $ value is good. But the steals projection gives him a lot of credit for one season that was way above all of his work prior. With WSN maybe being competitive, do they let him run with his low SB%?
