I agree with you @bslotterback.bsky.social. But growth in the pipelines doesn’t necessarily mean growth in consumption. jury is still out on that one- supply chain issues for CCGT, more exports raising gas prices at home etc. Impact of exports on global emissions depends on what they are replacing

“The pathologies of American exceptionalism — especially the belief that U.S. leadership is natural, necessary, and normatively superior — are still major obstacles to any sober reckoning with China’s rise”. This is brutal but true.

I am so sorry to hear this Aimee. I can empathize…Sometimes it’s hard to keep going in this environment. Personally, I am trying to do as much work as possible in clean energy/climate resilience outside the US. But we have to keep fighting at the state level too.. keep at it. One day at a time

I would generally agree. However there is one major assumption in SSP3 which is high population growth all the way to 12 billion in 2100. Current demographic trends point to a peak by 2040 and well under 10 billion. We almost need a new SSP to describe what’s going on

A sign of hope for climate, reduction in local air pollution, energy and economic security. Thanks for covering!
