While Blocher will not be re-elected for a second term because all other parties stick to the rules of concordance, Bochers actions reveal how the right-wing populist SVP is willing to abandon established democratic practices if it is for the party's and the strong leaders benefit.

Why does Blocher even consider to run again? Three main reasons appeae. 1. His followers and SVP members support it and Blocher knows this 2. The party representatives allow it. 3. He never accepted that he was not re-elected and lost his seat in 2007 after only four years in the government.

And similarily to other "charismatic leaders", his party and SVP representatives struggle to distance themselves from Blocher's statement. The SVP risks undermining political practices and its oen rules rather then standing up against their figurhead.

Und doch fände ich es besser, man würde über die Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten bei den Faktenchecks diskutieren statt sie als Witz und ideologisch zu diskreditieren. Damit spielt man denjenigen in die Hände, die lieber kein fact checking mehr wollen um unwidersprochen ihre Sicht zu verbreiten.

Ich finds ein schwierig zu beantwortendes Thema. Meiner Meinung nach würden strenge Regeln auf jeden Fall Sinn ergeben. Obs ein Verbot braucht, weiss ich nicht. Darf ich fragen, wie du das siehst?

I am not sure,what your point is? You suggest that parties should use right-wing populist rhetoric when it comes to migration to win the electorate? If so, this would not coincide with existing research.

Gibt wahrscheinlich viele Erklärungen. U.a. Unvermögen, Naivität, partei-interne Strömungen und wahrscheinlich auch Opportunismus, sowie Partikularinteressen - wie z.B. in Österreich.

While this is an important step, it is also the beginning of a long political process with an unsure outcome. Once finalised, the agreement will also require approval from the Swiss Parliament and is likely to face a national referendum (in 2028), reflecting the democratic processes in Switzerland.

Es wäre im Sinn der nationalen und kantonalen Parteien, die lokale Ebene ernster zu nehmen, gerade auch abseits von Referenden und Wahlkämpfen. Dadurch würde der Wille zu politischen Mitgestaltung im Dorf besser und nachhaltiger verankert.

Meine Forschung fokussierte auf die SVP. Die Mitglieder dieser Partei berichten zudem häufig, dass Sie sich ständig rechtfertigen müssen für Aussagen von nationalen Parteipolitikern. Das vereinfacht die Ausgangslange der Ortsparteien nicht und erschwert die Rekrutierung neuer Mitglieder zusätzlich.

Vielen nationalen Parteiorganisationen in der Schweiz fehlt die Bindung zu den Ortsparteien. Diese fühlen sich oft zu wenig gehört und unterstützt. Lokale Politik - ob Exekutive oder Parteiarbeit - ist ein zeitaufwändiger, schlecht bezahlter Job und das darf nicht ignoriert werden.
