Second time I've read this one. I'm gonna chalk it up to time changing my perspective, but noticed some things this time around that I don't remember from the first. Regardless, @paultremblay.bsky.social killed it. Deserved every accolade it got. Tragic, heartbreaking, disturbing, loved every word.

The master is displeased...

@paultremblay.bsky.social I nominated Head Full of Ghosts for the book club I'm in, and it got accepted! We're reading it for June. Shit in the dark, but would you be willing to sit in on our discussion later this month, on June 25?

Ranking high in my list of least favorite words is 'taut'. To me it means something shallow that a person is trying to convince you is actually deep. My opinion may be influenced by the Nic Cage movie 'Adaptation', so take that for what it's worth.

I've got other book club titles to get through for June, so gonna do my best to bust this one out by next week. What say you, @wordsandwhiskey.show? For the...Nor...Uni...the Bloody Ni...who now?

Took a short break from reading this weekend. Picked this one up, Book club title #5 for the year.

After taking my time with finishing Buffalo Hunter Hunter, time to read the book that was mentioned in its acknowledgments. Leave it to @paultremblay.bsky.social to subvert horror convention. But if there's no calculus equations in this one, I'm gonna be a touch disappointed...

Saturday morning 9a is way too early for Billy Joel to be playing in my head...

Our 5 year Gotchaversary! Lucifer Mayhem is the illuminating ball of chaos that I needed, and continues to sucker anyone and everyone with her evil cuteness. My little devil.

Looking forward to this one. @sgj.bsky.social puts some class in the horror genre, and I'm here for it. Plus, I'm still hoping for that 1-on-1 basketball game between him and @paultremblay.bsky.social. One can dream, right?

When in doubt, consult a black cat.

Love a good cover easter egg. Chuck Palahniuk stories are always an interesting journey, for sure.

Started this one last night. Probably gonna blow through it over the weekend. Frank Bill's writing always has the effect of making you feel filthy and beaten raw, like a punching bag worked over by a bare-knuckle fighter.

I read this back in middle school, 8th grade I think. Hits a little different when I've been in the ocean since...

Haven't posted in a while, and figured y'all could use a laugh. So hear y'are. 🤘 and live deliciously.

Evangelicals and Jesús Chrispies always told me that playing DnD would lead to Satan. And, well, can't really say they were wrong... Always count on @josephlaycock.bsky.social for the interesting learning.

Just a Satanist and their cat. Since, y'know, we eat and kill cats, or so the flavor-aid fundies say...

Really looking forward to this one. @jordanharper.bsky.social is on another level with his writing, it kinda pisses me off. Pick up any of his books and be prepared to see how it's done.

Book 3 of the week, and 7 for the year. To be hair, the first two books of the year were 700+ page tomes...

No cover photo since I take the dust jackets off, so you get a spine shot. Kind of appropriate, when you think about it.

In an attempt to make a dent in my TBR...shelf, I'm gonna post a photo every time I start a new book. Cracked this one open yesterday, a recommend from my partner.

I wonder if the Avian Flu is going to have an effect on Cadbury's upcoming Cum Egg stock. Talk about bad timing.

Elon wants to go to Mars, but maybe he should do some trial adventures first. I've got a self-designed submersible he might be interested in...

Life is better with books and black cats
