Same. It's been at least ten years.
I read all the immediate tie-ins (It, Insomnia, The Mist, etc), took me two years. I'm thinking of doing a reread soon, but just the main 8 books.

I was in 10th grade when Bush created the DHS. A few months later, random dissenters in federal buildings would be investigated and removed from their offices. Polling sites in Florida were monitored. I called it then: DHS is a gestapo collective of yes men.

I was watching the Oscars with some friends when Get Out won Best Original Screenplay, and exclaimed my elation that horror got an Oscar. One of the friends said "I thought it was thriller." My response was "Thriller is the word people use when they don't want to admit they liked a horror movie."

The best movies aren't about the thing they claim to be about, regardless of genre. Horror is just more creative with it.

Are you doing the Discordia as well? All the direct related books like It, Insomnia, The Talisman, et al.?

I'm curious about how a western-style book will work in this world. Each of the "stand-alone" trilogy books have their own genre/flavor, but would have never expected a western...

Yeah, I can imagine that would be a never-ending series of headaches for the podcast; 6 10-episode book discussions intercut with am abundance of Short Pours is my kind of masochism, but y'all have a show to run your own way.

I've been going through Sharp Ends as I read the books, somewhat in chronological order. So, one step ahead of ya!

On my list, gonna pick up a copy as soon as I locate it in Powell's!
By the way, that gator scene in Devils Takes You Home? Yeah, shit fucked me up for a stretch. Kudos 🤘keep up the good work and broadening my (and other readers') horizons.

I'd have to go with Red State and Green Room. Two movies about the dangers of violent faith and unquestioned belief, with great performances by actors playing outside their norm, and the color theme is on point as well.

If you can't write, then don't fucking write. If you didn't write something, then don't say you did. That's called plagiarism.

But we knew that. It happened in Scottsdale.
The issues I keep seeing are that people within the org. aren't learning from their mistakes, and trying to create a new playbook. One already exists, and it's working just fine for the other side. Let's take a page and adapt it for our use.

My partner is obsessed. I'm sure I'll get to another of their titles eventually. But for now, I have my own mountain to chisel away at.

I too can stand, but I prefer to sit when I pisspost. Less chance of ending up with a pissphone.
