Storm #Éowyn tomorrow in Ireland looks really ugly. There are reasons, why public transport, a lot of schools and probably most of public life will shut down. And before somebody looks on old maps, also Northern Ireland is now under red warning. www.met.ie/warnings-tom...

Has the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) weakened over the last decades? In our new study, we combine state-of-the-art CMIP6 models and observation-based estimates of the air-sea heat flux in the North Atlantic to show that the AMOC has not declined since the 1960s! 🌊

Sometimes you get reviews back, know that they are valid, but you feel still disappointed about its conclusions. But in the end, you have to give even crazy ideas a try. Better outcomes will come, hopefully the next time (but likely not with this idea).

Friday opinions: Why do we so often undersell the complexity of climate science. Often it is easier to break down our everyday problems in terms of quantum mechanics, as this is much better known (not understood) by many.
