Call for papers: “The Psychology of Pushback: Understanding Resistance and Compliance During Democratic Decline.” Edited by Jonas R. Kunst and John F. Dovidio. advances.in/psychology/1...

Why do some reject science on vaccines or climate change? It's often about what they consider trustworthy. Tailored approaches—teaching what makes info credible (like peer review) & framing facts to align with values—can bridge the gap. Let’s educate, not alienate.

Just read about this journal started by a colleague from Oslo (@kunstjonas.bsky.social). They pay reviewers - seems like an interesting model, definitely better than the traditional one. 100$ for a peer-review (one or more rounds) is not much, but can add a bit of motivation.

If you're interested in research on misinformation and conspiracy beliefs, I can highly recommend checking out this special issue!

It was great contributing to this together with the amazing Carolin Ziemer & friends: Ziemer et al. (2024) conducted a preregistered experimental study examining the susceptibility to pro-Russian disinformation about the war in Ukraine among Germans with and without a Russian migration background.
