đź’°Go to go.aft.org/BigUglyBill to stop the heist.

Working families can't afford $1.5 trillion in cuts to the services they need. Visit go.aft.org/BigUglyBill and tell your lawmakers to reject these cuts!

Health professionals converged for this year’s AFT Nurses and Health Professionals Professional Issues Conference in Chicago, determined to set a course for the coming year: defending patients, protecting communities, and beating back the authoritarian tide washing over American democracy.

How many times do we have to say it? Working families need health care MORE than billionaires and greedy CEOs need another tax break. Lawmakers should expand health care access, not gut it for millions of workers. The Senate must reject this budget bill. Lives are at stake.

Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill would kill over 830,000 jobs, increase pollution, and raise YOUR energy costs alone by as much as $400. This would be a total disaster for our communities, our planet, and our wallets. 📱 Call your senators at 202-224-3121 and tell them to kill this extreme bill.

SCOTUS knee capped lower courts today while kicking the question of birthright citizenship down the road. Justices Sotomayor and Jackson are right to call out problems and dangers of this decision.   www.nytimes.com/live/2025/06...

Good! Senate Republicans can’t use the Big Ugly Bill to end run the legislative process to slash Medicaid or create a national school voucher program. But they are still trying to find a way to do it so keep telling Congress how harmful these policies would be! www.budget.senate.gov/ranking-memb...

“...these grants were funding desperately needed access to mental health care services. Canceling the funding now is a cruel, reckless act that puts millions of children at risk.” - @rweingarten.bsky.social

Slashing vital services while giving massive tax breaks to the wealthy leaves working families paying the price — with more debt and less support for farms, schools, and healthcare. Tell Congress: This budget just doesn’t add up. Visit go.aft.org/BigUglyBill and share the video below.

You’ve seen this movie before: Maybe Reagan guessed, Bush hoped, and Trump tried—but tax cuts never paid for themselves. Given the mountain of evidence, claiming once again that "tax cuts will pay for themselves" is no longer ideologically motivated optimism. It's a lie.

How do they get away with this? The bill they passed cuts Medicaid by $793 BILLION. $793 BILLION. It's in the bill. They wrote it. Their own budget office says 10 million people will lose Medicaid coverage. Just wild.

The thing about the Kardashians partying at the Bezos-Sanchez wedding is that ... right now Republicans are trying to pass a bill that will give billionaires tax breaks while slashing healthcare & food assistance from kids living in poverty. aftvotes.org/reconciliation

Tell Congress to save Medicaid. “The formula that is delivered through a tube in her stomach costs more than my mortgage ... more than my entire food budget for our family ... there is no way that we could come up with that $1,500 to be able to feed her.” www.cnn.com/2025/06/26/p...

SCOTUS just said in a 6-3 ruling: if SC bans Planned Parenthood from Medicaid, patients can’t do a damn thing about it. Cancer screenings? STI care? Birth control? Not their problem. This ruling makes it harder for anyone to challenge states defunding care.

Trump’s plan is more than bad policy—it’s a full-scale attack on union members, our jobs, our families and our future. We won’t stand by while the Trump administration punishes us for being working-class. Read more & spread the word here: aftvotes.org/reconciliation

The Senate budget bill is a direct assault on immigrant children’s health and safety. It would let the government detain immigrant families indefinitely - and in unlicensed facilities. 📢 We demand protection, not punishment. Tell Congress NO! youthlaw.org/voteno

70 million Americans and 1/3 of our children rely on Medicaid to get the care they need. Trump's budget could cut off their access to care, and close 338 rural hospitals on top of that. Visit go.aft.org/BigUglyBill and tell your lawmaker to stop the cuts.

If it takes some silly word play to get more attention then so BEE it. This bill would be a huge transfer of wealth to the rich, and hardworking families will pay for it. bsky.app/profile/aft....

Rural hospitals are lifelines. This bill would gut health care for millions—especially in small towns. Closing hospitals doesn’t save money. It costs lives. We must stop these devastating cuts.

An army of moms are are currently with Senator Cantwell in Washington DC right now rallying to stop the Big Ugly Bill and save Medicaid and SNAP. We can't let Trump's aggressive rhetoric towards Iran distract us from the fact that his budget will destroy Medicaid. #MomSky

Thank you @cantwell.senate.gov for standing up for WA families & for every family in America as you fight to lower costs for all of us and to protect SNAP, healthcare (Medicaid, ACA & more), and our economy. We appreciate your leadership! TY! #WeWontGetOverLosingMedicaid

Trump and Republicans’ big, ugly bill could increase the country’s medical debt by $50 billion. Some families’ medical debt could increase by over $20,000 due to the lack of coverage. And it’s all to finance tax cuts that overwhelmingly help the rich. Reverse Robin Hood.

We're outside OSU University Hospital with Ohio Nurses Association to tell OSU nurses need staff staffing and a fair contract now!

Under the Senate’s budget bill, 16 million people would lose their health insurance and health care costs could increase by $485 a year for everyone else. Working people need their health insurance more than billionaires need another tax cut.

Thanks to @momsrising.org @rowefinkbeiner.bsky.social for organizing a great morning for moms and their kids to talk with senators and their staff about why voting yes in Trump’s big bee-trayal to families who would will suffer from cuts to healthcare, education, and other public services.
