This is just absurd. There's no way this should be allowable.

Let's be clear on this. Prices will go up and the market will bear it. Tariffs may disappear, but prices will stay up because the market will bear it. The money being generated from tariffs will pass through to the consumer and will then be the basis for tax cuts for the rich. This is bullshit.

Ah yes, the deceased Prime Minister of Japan told you that you were right about the trade imbalance between the two countries. Right.

Watching this speech he keeps saying "they charge us XX%", which is absolutely insane.

I usually post things relating to politics and the dumpster fire that is America right now. But to prove I smile from time to time...here's some awesome monitor buddies of @eliotetc.bsky.social and @rickyftw.bsky.social that watch over my work decisions all day now.

So is he like, trying to tank the market at this point? I just find it so hard to believe this isn't intentional because it's just so dumb.

It is fantastic to know this piece of shit is now facing the consequences of giving just the most detached from reality takes in service of Trump.

Sure that's not troubling at all.

Trump’s latest executive order (that was no doubt written by psychopath RFK Jr.) goes after antidepressants. As someone whose life was saved by them, you will pry my prozac from my cold dead hands. www.whitehouse.gov/presidential...

Just made aware of this Federal DOT order relating to grants, loans, contracts and geneal dispersion of federal money. Reading it is absolutely insane. www.transportation.gov/sites/dot.go...

One week into this and predictably we at the county budget office still have zero idea of how to structure our budget for the next fiscal year. One which we must complete soon (by law), due to the complete lack of communication on what will become of basically all federal funds. Joy.

Look, it's true that you can't draw a causal line between the polices Trump has put in place in the last week, and a mid air collision. However, you can definitely say the things he's doing are not going to move us in a safer direction. This isn't weaponizing a tragedy. It's illuminating reality.

How on earth can you offer deferred resignations to federal workers? I mean, someone needs to be doing their job. You can't pay someone and hire a replacement at the same time without forgoing some other position and using salary savings. This just doesn't make financial sense.

As someone that works with state and municipal budgets for a living, this kind of memo from omb with broad ambiguous language is more than a little terrifying. Google Office of Management and Budget memo M-25-13.

To follow up with something more of a solution than a gripe; we need campaign finance reform. When one man can afford to literally dump $10MM into every primary race in both houses of the legislature without thinking about it, we will never get populist policies.

While I'm sure this is an unpopular take, while I see so many Dems celebrating egg prices going up; no one seems to mention how bird flu factors in that equation. This isn't a win.

But we back the blue right? Right???

Wild. Top is the NBC upload, bottom is the one aired as the live feed

We are all Hasan at this moment.

Annnnnnnd shocking nobody at all.

Well, this is where we're at America. Everyone proud?

Sums it up perfectly.

@agentm7.bsky.social so good!

Something to keep in mind is that an oligarchy has been the inevitable outcome of the worshipping of wealth for so many in this country. Voting for the interests of the rich because you think one day you'll be the billionaire is the best way to ensure you won't.

It should be criminal for insurance companies to drop coverage because their analysts have decided that due to climate change, they're likely to have to pay out. However, if they do, they should definitely have to return all the money people have paid when the odds were in their favor.
