Taking comfort this evening in the lovely skirling guitars of this song, one of my primary examples of "You only know this music if you lived in this era" (never seen the video before, but now I understand my love stems partly from shared Rickenbacker/Hofner/Beatle worship) youtu.be/ZZrIdbumFiI?...

I will show my Mom 😊

@profanity.accountant ok hi me too pls 😊

“What should I pack for SXSW?” Uh, all of it. All the clothing.

From a FOIA perspective, "the entire federal workforce should write down and email what they did last week" is extremely funny

Work is progressing right along on Chicken Oil Co. rebuilding 👍🐓

I love this energy for us 😊❤️ "The attendance figure marked the largest crowd ever for an Aggie opening day. Every time Earley’s face was featured on the screen, let alone he actually exit the dugout, his presence was met with a standing ovation." #aggiebaseball #203sky

Texas A&M ties it up on a second consecutive 4-pitch walk. Up to #ball9.

Aggie Muster is still a few months away, but I am already talking with Muster chairs about how to get technical things working, like "where can I get an MP3 of 'The Spirit of Aggieland.'" It reminds me of the original 1943 Muster packets, with special instructions for the "radio bugs"!

It's 4 p.m. in 1996, wyd? I've just arrived at my night-shift copy editing job at a mid-sized daily newspaper in Texas. We're looking at the list of what stories will go in tomorrow's paper and editing the few that have already been filed, using an Atex green-screen monitor:

I'll see your "skibidi toilet" and raise you a "23 Skiddoo"! Unofficial @tamu.bsky.social yell hand-written into the "Yells" section of a Class of 1914 student's handbook. (Howdy from the archives!)

In 1943, Aggie yell practices moved to the "esplanade" in front of Walton Hall?? I assume this is the general area that we Haas Hall residents used to call "the hill" where we used to hang out and "study." Clipping is from The Battalion, June 20, 1944. (Howdy from the archives!)

I do love me a foggy day on campus. #gigem

Well. Trying to relax with some Roman history was not the move tonight.

Wait... we used to... wait we used to have 24-hour coffee and doughnuts next to campus in 1957?? (howdy from the archives -- this is from the March 12, 1957, Batt)

@elenawicker.bsky.social Hi! I wonder if you could help me find a researcher or expert to ask - I'm trying to trace whether a specific Army slang term goes back before the Civil War. I'd be grateful for any help/suggestions!

In some hopeful news, there is a lot to like in A&M's newly announced plans to handle its growth challenges. In particular, housing, land use, and transportation improvements to support bus, walk, and wheeling. Details matter but the language at least is promising. president.tamu.edu/quick-look-a...

From The Eagle: Texas A&M University will pause undergraduate growth on its main campus for the next five to seven years, A&M President Mark A. Welsh III announced in a message to the campus community Thursday. theeagle.com/news/a_m/tam...
