The Heritage Foundation wants to know if YOU support what DOGE is doing. They have some questions: Do you support $280,000 for “diverse” bird watcher groups? Do you believe DOGE will be an effective tool for eliminating excessive government spending? And more! Feel free to let them know!

Three updates: 1. The Justice Department has deleted a database tracking federal police misconduct. The database was first proposed in 2020 following the police killing of George Floyd.

we are getting a national version of red state governance, where the people in charge do everything they can to impoverish the state under the view that the more wretched things get, the easier it is for them to stay in power

I hop onto this platform and it’s like: TRUMP GOT A HEART TATTOO THAT SAYS “PUTIN” MUSK IS STEALING EVERYONE’S MONEY. “IT ALL BELONGS TO ME.” TECH TODDLER GIVEN NUCLEAR CODES EO SAYS TRANS ATHLETES CAN BE HUNTED LIKE DEER NON-RIGHT WING MEDIA LIMITED TO MORSE CODE NOW Then I have to lie down.

The Trump administration blamed the dismantling of USAID on its workers’ high levels of “insubordination.” Nothing like gaslighting America.

no funding if it seems like the research MIGHT involve a woman or a nonwhite person

I've fallen asleep to Brooklyn Nine-Nine every day this week. I call them the DEI OG. 😉 For a lot of Americans, this is a visual representation of what it's like to live in big American cities. Diversity is cool, entertaining, & a beautiful form of community. Fuck white trash supremacists.

One thing we've learned since 1/20 with painful clarity is that our institutions are far more fragile than we could have ever imagined.

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” wins Record of the Year at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. The diss record also won Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song and Best Music Video. “We’re gonna dedicate this one to the city,” the Compton rapper said. wapo.st/40GXLGn

USAID.gov is down. Why is this concerning? Trump has no legal authority to eliminate a congressionally funded independent agency. The work of USAID is vital, and if this can happen to them, it can happen to any of us.

I am tired of people saying and believing this. Our lives are not a game of chess and these leaders aren’t making brilliant political maneuvers. Please stop the delusions. It’s embarrassing.

Ahhh yes. Our lives that we are living, mere noise. Not one lesson was learned from the last election.

➡️ January 20: FAA director fired ➡️ January 21: Air Traffic Controller hiring frozen ➡️ January 22: Aviation Safety Advisory Committee disbanded ➡️ January 28: Buyout/retirement demand sent to existing employees ➡️ January 29: First American mid-air collision in 16 years Making America Great Again!

Not gonna lie I did kinda expect our Democratic politicians to have something like a plan to counter the 920-page detailed fascist blueprint that was published in April 2023

The American people deserve an intelligence chief that will stand up to Donald Trump if he gives them a directive to illegally gut funds from watchdogs that oversee intelligence agencies. Tulsi Gabbard refused to answer, which tells you everything you need to know.

It is such a delight to be bullied into going to bed at a decent hour by your cat so she can have cuddle time with you.

Toxic positivity is pressuring people to look on the bright side. They have to suppress anxiety, anger, sadness, and grief. Healthy support is shielding people from the dark side. You invite them to express their pain, and show them they're not alone and won't feel it forever.

I'm not teaching my grad course 'Civil Resistance: How It Works' this semester. But here is an abridged version of the course schedule, readings, and films I used the last time I taught it (in 2022). Just in case it's useful. drive.google.com/file/d/14RRJ...

• Get a library card • Use your library card • Support indie booksellers • Read banned books • Read diverse authors • Resist • Repeat #booksky #resist

Devastating for scientists and their research, and everyone who benefits from that research. I’m not sure if everyone outside academia is aware that a delay or “pause” in grant funding often means the researchers themselves are lost from the field, along with their expertise.

um

Let's Gooo! techcrunch.com/2025/01/15/b...

Hey, should we be, like, downloading the Library of Congress or something?
