Four R senators and four R House members could announce they're caucusing with the Dems for now, and will vote for Schumer for Majority Leader and Jeffries for Speaker, because the threat to the rule of law is dire. Meanwhile, they'll work with Democrats to construct guardrails against dictatorship.

DC Bar members: I am supporting Diane Seltzer for DC Bar President when voting opens tomorrow April 15 - she is running against Pam Bondi’s brother Brad Bondi. Please make sure you vote for the rule of law and for Diane Seltzer.

Sanders: We look to these law firms who have hundreds of well-paid lawyers to defend the constitution, to defend the rule of law. They were more interested in getting millions of dollars from their lobbying.. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Paul Weiss: We are pathetic. Skadden: Hold our beer.

This is painful, and saddening, and embarrassing. I feel like we're losing a member of the family - and for no good reason other than that some Americans wanted another season of the worst reality TV show in history.

Yeah. I wonder if Mark Milley, Jack Smith, Liz Cheney, Tanya Chutkin, CQ Brown, James Boasberg, Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, Stormy Daniels, E Jean Carroll, Juan Merchan, Mary Trump, etc etc can begin to appreciate the stressfulness and bravery of the head of a prosperous law firm when caving to Trump.

“But no one in the wider world can appreciate how stressful it is to confront an executive order like this until one is directed at you.” --Brad Karp. Fuck you, you coward.

How could anyone ever trust a law firm that gave into pressure like this to stand by them when the going got rough?

This Paul Weiss capitulation is the most disgraceful action by a major law firm in my lifetime, so appalling that I couldn’t believe it at first. Any lawyers at that firm—partners or associates—who don’t promptly resign will defile their moral and professional reputations beyond repair.
