Hi #EconSky! I’m a PhD Candidate in Economics at Uppsala University. My #EconJMP investigates how firms’ previous employment experience in a particular occupation affects hiring standards, wages, and post-hiring outcomes. Find out more about my research here: sites.google.com/view/dogangu...

I’m excited to share my JMP, in which I develop a model of two-tier collective wage bargaining---where central negotiations are supplemented with local adjustments---in a frictional labor market. 1/8 Website: sites.google.com/view/agnetab...

Happy recipients of the Assar Lindbeck Medal, a career award for the best Swedish economist(s) under 45. 🥂 🎉

As this is really helping me getting a network, here are some people doing research on industrial relations and trade unions Feel free to suggest more @etui.bsky.social @mhermans.bsky.social @melaniesimms.bsky.social @johnwbudd.bsky.social @kurtvandaele.bsky.social go.bsky.app/8W2BZMR

Should we subsidise the care for elderly people? Patrizia blends elegant theoretical with excellent empirical work to show that an increase of the subsidy in fact paid for itself. She is an enormously promising researcher. Check out her work!

Hey all, I created a starter pack with a list of Black economists and academics for an easily accessible list of folks doing research that we can all follow and cite #Blacksky #AddtoBlacksky #Econsky: go.bsky.app/RyKSzcb

I created an #EconSky 📉📈 starter pack for researchers, institutes and departments in/from Sweden. Go and check it out here (and DM me if I missed to include you): go.bsky.app/Sz1jgZX

New IZA DP: The gender wage gap is much narrower when jobs are covered by collective agreements with less local flexibility among Swedish blue collar workers. Effects are largest when women are few, or rents are scarce: www.iza.org/publications...

Research by Arash Nekoei (IIES), Jósef Sigurðsson (Dept of Economics) at Stockholm U & Dominik Wehr at SSE reveals significant economic fallout from workplace burnout especially impacting women. Burnout, more common in women, leads to lasting income loss and affects family stability. bit.ly/4cxr8z6

A quite fascinating aspect of the Swedish collective wage bargaining system is that unions, employer associations and their respective confederations, invest a lot in producing their own knowledge about the state and development of the economy. As it turns out, they do it quite well. t.co/1v1YUuOWPx

If you're a senior male economist and would be interested in discussing the drafting of an open letter re the newly announced IZA leadership change, e-mail me. Female econs are rightly tired of the burden of such efforts falling on them.
