Aberdeen FC season ticket holder, West Bromwich Albion, social democracy. I don't agree with that in the workplace.

I’m afraid this boy on #OneQuestion has simply the worst vibes of all time.

When Zelenskyy asked Vance if he had been to Ukraine.

JD Vance has the vibe of the school bully suck up: follows them around, laughs at their shitty jokes, speaks to remind them how good and hard they are and to remind them that they exist. Deeply unfortunate when you're not only 40-years-old but the Vice President of the United States.

Amusing anecdote from ‘Get In’ about Morgan McSweeney considering inviting a group of proper Rangers men down from Glasgow to sing God Save the King at Labour conference in Liverpool days after the Queen’s funeral.

Max on #TheApprentice is the most concerned person I have ever laid eyes on. He just permanently wears the look of a man who is deeply, deeply concerned.

When you order Tom Skinner from Wish. #TheApprentice

Badenoch and Farage having their arses handed to them on the Chagos Islands is quite funny IMO.

Rangers might not thank me, but get the contract out, put it on the table and let him sign it, let him write whatever numbers he wants, let him sign the contract. Barry Ferguson's at the wheel, man. Rangers are BACK!

Surprised that Kris Boyd wasn't invited down to Rangers' dressing room to give a half-time rallying cry. Just in case Allan McGregor proved a bit too highbrow for the players.

Shamelessly opportunistic and short-termist politicians jumping on the Musk bandwagon and advocating for a DOGE in the UK should be treated with extreme scorn. Especially those who like to think of themselves as remotely progressive. (c/c @anassarwar.bsky.social)

Thelin is obviously big on a set structure and patterns of play, but it does feel significant that Gueye and Morris often provide our most significant attacking threat, just by *doing things* and being very direct. The two players in the squad who are most comfortable when essentially freestyling.

Preston will presumably want to recover a significant chunk of their reported £1.7m outlay on Jeppe Okkels, should we seek to sign him permanently. I am going to be honest and say that I am not currently seeing the value in that.

We are now contractually obligated to pretend that he is rubbish, but Jamie McGrath scored one of my favourite Aberdeen goals from the last decade. It wasn't a work of art, but I genuinely felt like I was going to pass out in the away section after that ball hit the net. Cheers for that, Jamie.

Some of our fans going hard on the copium with that McGrath news. Very effective player, good signing for Hibs, and undoubtedly a bit of blow for us that he is going to a direct rival.

Don't usually say kind things about #LUFC, but this is the best and most complete Championship team I have seen. So good - defensively, offensively, physically, technically. Very well coached, too. Saturday might be a tough watch. Hopefully a case of after the Lord Mayor's show.

I always wondered why Reo Hatate didn't play more often for Japan. Then Ao Tanaka signed for Leeds and I watched him a few times. Player.

This #LUFC team is packed with excellent Championship players, but every time I watch them, I think Gruev stands out as just being a level or two below his teammates. I'm not really sure what he brings to the table or does really well. (He will score now, of course.)

Huge sense of panic from #LUFC here. Meslier the biggest culprit, but radiating throughout the team - look totally rattled by how intense and frontfooted #SUFC have been in the first 20 minutes.

New manager bounce after news filtered through from Glasgow that Rangers had appointed Barry Ferguson.

Fashionably late, but I only started watching Inside No. 9 last month. Some of the episodes are genuinely exceptional. "The 12 Days of Christine" is right up there with the best half hour of TV that I have seen, with "Tom & Gerri" not too far behind.

It's a bit Football Cliches, but I find it unreasonably irritating when commentators refuse to acknowledge their own errors. For example, saying that a foul has been given when it's actually a throw, or identifying the wrong player. It's very minor, but please just correct it and we can all move on!

The team that made an effort to win the game, wins it.

A photo to sum up the first 70 minutes of Aberdeen v Kilmarnock. Two teams who don’t look like they know how to create goalscoring chances. More injury stoppages than instances of goalmouth action.

My hottest of hot takes is that Man United should probably cut their losses with Amorim now. Whether Iraola or even Frank would be interested is another matter, but feels like they will replicate the ten Hag situation by persisting with an obviously destined-for-failure manager.

A bit ad hominem, but Lisa Nandy must be the most overrated politician in Britain. Bemused that she has - or has had - seemingly so many advocates. Seriously, what do people see in her?

I oppose the death penalty in all circumstances, except for people who occupy tables in packed cafés before queuing - or take the table while someone goes up. Additional scorn for those feigning ignorance when others abiding by the correct etiquette are seeking a table while carting a tray around.

"We want Elon and his nerd army of Muskrats examining the British deep state."

Leopards/face latest:

People who feel compelled to comment on Teams calls that they "need to drop off", despite there being literally hundreds of people on said call, them not needing to contribute to it, and precisely nobody checking or noticing if they are on the call up to that point. One question: Why?

Surprised to hear Alan Partridge resurrect his football commentary career for Milan v Feyenoord yesterday.

Good to see so many wise replies to this: that people hate Ozempic because they think being fat is a moral sin and that the solution to it should be for the sinning fatties to be punished.

The new episode of The White Lotus: Very good. The new theme song of The White Lotus: Very bad.

A lovely little drop for a Saturday night. A proper fruity number.

Reform getting double-figure MSPs in Holyrood would obviously be terrible, but there could be some comedy in how many of them would make David Coburn sound like Cicero. Farage personally intervening to suspend half of them within the first year.

Just completed a full rewatch over the last few weeks of The White Lotus before Season 3 is released. I still feel like Season 1 is good, but misses something to make it any better than that. Season 2, however, even on second viewing, is brilliantly compelling TV.

Barney Walsh, with your face like a man exchanging awkward eye contact with the cashier while using a stolen credit card for the Tesco big shop. #Gladiators

I am increasingly convinced that Jean-Philippe Mateta with his shirt tucked in could sign for Real Madrid and immediately improve them.

Cheryl Hines, best known for being married to a narcissistic sociopath, is also the real life wife of Donald Trump's health secretary.

Keir Starmer losing Ian Dunt by February 2025 is genuinely impressive. In the weeks after the election, he actually reached a level of sycophancy that I don't think even Harry Cole got to at the height of Boris Johnson's premiership.

Just had to deny having even a passing interest in football let alone Aberdeen FC to a Glaswegian taxi driver. One of those days.

I think, in football, we are too quick to conflate 'taking a normal amount of time' with 'timewasting'. Exeter v Forest a good example; suddenly Exeter have an obligation to play to Forest's pace and not take the sort of time over set pieces that nobody would have blinked at in the first half, say.

Aberdeen's knockout ties to get to Hampden twice this season: SC: Elgin (A), Dunfermline (H), Queen's Park (H); LC: Queen's Park (H), Spartans (H). Last season: SC: Clyde (A), Bonnyrigg (H), Killie (H); LC: Stirling (A), Ross County (A). You can only beat what's in front of you, but a kind run.

Just saw Jimmy Thelin in Morrisons doing an admirable job of negotiating the broad Doric being spoken to him by a couple of excited Dons fans, mostly by just replying "yes" and "I'm happy" to everything they said.

Ryan Duncan acknowledging the handful of remaining home fans at full-time. Good man.
