Looks like the CDU is willing to rely on AfD votes to push through new harsh anti-asylum measures next week. They will likely get Lindner’s FDP votes and Wagenknecht’s BSW as well. A terrible mistake they’ll come to regret.

I’m sure subtle differences in wording about defense policy (from a party that ran our military into the ground) will matter greatly when they’re eventually in a coalition with the AfD.

German media have leaked an internal AfD document showing that far-right normalization is a deliberate strategy. Not surprising, but still frustrating because apparently political science research is read by exactly the wrong people while it is largely ignored by mainstream parties.

There’s also no reason to believe if that swing voter did see it, it would be persuasive in any way. In general, people rarely change their political beliefs and if they do, it’s not because of a single tweet in a sea of hate posting. But go ahead, stay and keep that cesspool alive.
