I've wrestled with this old (excuse the pun) premise for some years now and I'm not convinced that it ever was a natural thing to presume that people get more conservative as they grow older. It is more likely that the data was misinterpreted as people in general were more conservative in the past.

I never had a dad, but I'm guessing governor Walz is what most people feel is the closest thing to one. His posts certainly are comforting in what otherwise feels like a neverending doom-scroll of news.
