To paraphrase the founder of D.C.'s Washington Informer: If it is to be, it is up we. Only we can save us. Find a group doing what you respect and join them.

Today's action is the single largest mass-illegalization event in US history. 350,000 people woke up this morning with legal status, living and working here with official permission. They'll go to bed as undocumented immigrants facing deportation.

Thank you Senator for being such a staunch ally and defender of your disenfranchised fellow citizens in D.C!

Thank you Senator for standing up for DC autonomy and fighting the fight we in DC can’t because we are disenfranchised and have no senators!

Why are we even talking about this?!!!? We need an active resistance now, not betting on something in 2028. And stop playing the horserace game.

We cannot continue to fuel the economy of our city on the backs of workers. Restaurant workers fought TWICE & voters approved a fair min wage TWICE. I hope once we block this repeal, the issue will be settled once and for all. @unitehere.org @weareliuna.bsky.social @ibewinternational.bsky.social

Restaurants claiming that paying workers under Initiative 82 is too expensive means they have been engaging in massive wage theft over the years. Restaurants were supposed to make up the difference between tipped wages and minimum wage before I82. Diners should have been paying this cost all along.

Enriching the billionaires and impoverishing the rest of us. We need to be saying this over and over. And also "The Corruption Administration" - (h/t to a Bluesky commenter) and @thebulwark.com

Thanks for stepping out of your comfort zone and speaking up! I too had to get more brave. And I love your "Kaffee und Kuchen" picture!

Can we move beyond the framing that any of this has to do with efficiency or "waste or fat"? Call what this Administration is doing to the government what it really is: Enriching billionaires and impoverishing the rest of us.

How to #boycottAmazon: Shop local stores: hardware (my ACE is employee-owned!), art supply, recreational/sports store Use Etsy Cancel Prime - use other streaming services and local library Avoid Whole Foods - shop at local natural food store/coop if available or buy organic at the grocery store

#RachelMaddow @maddow.msnbc.com #MSNBC visual coverage of the peaceful protests was the best thus far. Substantial. The focus and imaging could be done by any news outlet, even without the classy Maddow. It's a choice not to. www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddo...
