Put aside the lies and the open defiance of the Supreme Court, as well as the cruelty, and ask yourself: who talks like this? This is the *official* account of the *White House* - is it being run by a six year old?

Don't let the last words said by Americans before our country completely collapses be "We were just following orders."

“The Executive may succeed for a time in weakening the courts, but over time history will script the tragic gap between what was and all that might have been, and law in time will sign its epitaph.” - Judge Wilkinson www.muellershewrote.com/p/how-a-judg...

We could have been talking about $25K down payment assistance for new homeowners in a thriving economy right now, but here we are.

Here are some tips for protesting today. I'm adding, if you are out there today, when you get there make sure to study your surroundings and make a plan to exit quickly if necessary. Scroll down the article to see the tips: www.wired.com/story/how-to...

The abolish ICE crowd has never been more vindicated

We’ve talked about Operation Whirlwind before, but the mission keeps expanding, now it’s targeting scientific journals. This week, Ed Martin, the U.S. attorney for D.C., sent an unprecedented letter to CHEST, a medical journal focused on respiratory science, questioning their editorial policies

Friday reminder that court orders are not optional. It’s that simple.

Who would’ve thought we’d be living these books out? We are in perilous times.

Daily Reminder: Social Security is OUR money, an EARNED benefit!

HELL YES.

Virtually every number or statistic Trump throws out on any subject - polls, election results, casualty figures, immigration, taxes, spending, economic, gas or food prices, - 95% of the time he uses a number for anything it is patently false and wildly exaggerated in his favor.

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

Honestly, I have to say a big fuck you to anyone who even remotely implied that @vanhollen.senate.gov’s trip was “pointless.” This is what leadership looks like. Maybe you can learn a thing or two.

I started Democracy Docket in 2020 to be a check on Donald Trump's attacks on democracy. Five years later, its work is more important than ever before. Please consider joining today to help support its vital work. newsletters.democracydocket.com/member

I don't really care what the "political consequences" are of fighting for the proposition that *everyone* is entitled to due process before they are removed from the United States and sent to a Salvadoran prison. It's not really a principle if you only adhere to it when it's politically expedient.

Americans are entitled to and should demand better than this from the President of the United States.

Marriott’s CEO spoke out about being in favor of DEI. “The winds blow, but there are some fundamental truths for those 98 years," Capuano said. “We welcome all to our hotels and we create opportunities for all—and fundamentally those will never change.”

BREAKING: You're gonna need to sit down for this one, but an investigation has shown the IDF not only lied about the aid workers' deaths, but also lied again in their follow up explanation. I know, I can't believe it either x

These are not real town halls. They’re fine, but don’t let them claim these are as good as town halls. You totally control the script. I’ve done dozens of em

This is some sick shit

JUST IN: Lawyers for Venezuelan nationals say they’re being loaded onto buses this hour in anticipation of a new wave of Alien Enemies Act deportations, w less than 24 hours notice. They’re asking Judge Boasberg for an immediate restraining order requiring 30 days notice.

A presidential effort to revoke Harvard University's tax-exempt status could run up against a number of challenges, including violating federal law.

Not the same indeed.

Trump is breaking the law. How is that not in the headline?

Van Hollen: I should also just say, I mentioned the fake margarita, they actually wanted to have the meeting by the side of the pool in the hotel. They want to create this appearance that life was just lovely for Kilmar. Which of course is a big, fat lie.

Of course, he is a Rebuplican

"His conversation with me was the first communication he'd had with anybody outside a prison since he was abducted." Sen. Chris Van Hollen recounts his meeting with Kilmar Abrego Garcia in El Salvador and said Abrego Garcia described his deportation to him.

The White House doesn’t care about Garcia’s legal status because they’re not enforcing immigration law—they’re conducting ethnic cleansing. They can’t justify their actions legally, but they don’t think they need to.

I know a lot of US citizens only care about US citizens, so I'll just go ahead and point out: when ICE arrests you, the due process would be the point where you prove you can't be deported because you're a US citizen. Without it, there's nothing stopping them from sending you to CECOT forever.

Hmmm... good question 🤔

If you think you can't make a political issue out of "people shouldn't be grabbed off the street and put in a foreign gulag forever," maybe consider getting out of politics/punditry. And these aren't technical slogans: they appear in the Declaration of Independence and in the Constitution (twice).

Paging Upton Sinclair.

Jesus Christ, man

Kaitlan Collins presses Tom Homan on why what's released in public doesn't match what's released in court.

An innocent man who committed no crime but is the same race as the person who murdered your daughter should have to spend the rest of his life in a concentration camp is the argument?

The next days and months and years will demand from all of us great courage — and solidarity. Be prepared.
