My theory:

So, if you get trapped in a vehicle trunk, where people normally don't ride, there's a mandated glow in the dark trunk release that's out in the open.

I can't remember where I saw it, but somebody posted about taking their adult child to a Tesla dealership as a fun outing to string the salespeople along for hours as they test drove different cars and the child would waffle about which one they wanted.
Then they'd leave without a sale.
