The ‘immune to propaganda’ crowd is an outstanding subject for research right now

The first Chinese PLA Navy Type 076 amphibious assault ship was launched on the morning of Dec. 27 at the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai. It was named after the province of Sichuan and has a hull number of 51. FYI: www.csis.org/analysis/chi... CC @brianthart.bsky.social

still blows my mind that Big Army has fielded a proven IR-defeat system on all platforms (bar AH-64 officially). The Navy, however, has yet to field CIRCM or any other IR-defeat system.

clearer shot definitely proves my hypothesis on the use of caret intakes. furthermore, it seems the reason for using such design was to incorporate side-looking arrays. these look strikingly similar to those found on the Su-57 for early warning. very interesting.

very curious about the decision to not utilize a DSI but rather a caret intake for this. why go the way of outdated design technology?
