Yep. Wish there had been a 3rd timeline for her where she wasnβt a victim or the villain.

Omg I am glad it wasn't just me that noticed the gay vibes. Did you see the way Chai Jing put the ointment on her hands? That was so not straight!

Oh my that would be even better! They could bring posters of the beautiful visuals that the Honeycomb Collective makes to illustrate the cycle.

@chelssicle.bsky.social I second Perfect Match from the list above if you want a wholesome and hilarious drama about family. I'm watching Les Belles right now and it is silly fun perfect for spring.

Really hoping this means that his drama with Mao Xiao Tong will be airing soon!

It came out in 2012 so it's a bit older but I recommend starting with that one. Between the two, Empresses in the Palace has the better story and characters. Ruyi is the sequel to Empresses so you can watch Ruyi after if you enjoyed Empresses.

Have you see the drama that came before this one? Empresses in the Palace?

I recommend it but only if you like very sad and long dramas. The acting is top tier and the costumes and sets are absolutely gorgeous.

I think it comes down to everyone having different recommendation methods. I went off of the top of my head and didnβt put too much thought into it π

That is a much better way to look at it, thank you! ππππ
I didnβt look through all the responses but it seemed to me that they were dominated by newer dramas.

The first 3 times I tried to watch it I couldnβt get into it and it took the 4th attempt for the show to hook me. So glad I gave it a chance!

I miss the days when the sci-fi dystopia seemed so exotic and far away that dark shows were thrilling entertainment.

I think it gets a bit less, but not by much haha. It's one of my favorite shows but I can't rewatch it because it's so emotionally harrowing. It might be too much like the current times to watch right now...

I second this idea, yes.
