My marker for the Bluesky discourse of the week: 1) "men" are a hair under half the population, and even restricting it to "young men" means you aren't breaking out class/edu as much as you need to. 2) similarly, the media analysis is all off - Tate more marginal by all accounts.

Am I wrong to be somewhat unconcerned about this stuff? It reminds me of the Dark Brandon memes in 2022 - its all meme magic until the ports do mass layoffs and small/medium businesses go under.

Palantir's politics continue to boggle the mind

The notion that PBS/NPR are giving them a "platform" is hilarious. They won, guys! They have the ear of the president and his advisors! That's the platform.

Saw this in the Slow Boring comments this morning - we're not prepared for how grim this replacement will get (and has already gotten)

Unfortunately the people behind this slogan don't agree with "Americans will still want some kind of immigration and border authorities", so if you're using it, you're inevitably going to tie your cause to theirs.

Its impossible to argue either of these, since proponents of both not only have a variety of views of what each slogan means, they also insist that their meaning is the only one and that you're making up the others.

Tbh the gender gap doesn't look too ridiculous here, with two notable exceptions outside the 40-50% range

You will pine for this when the screens are plastered with L3Harris ads

I've now re-posted a copy of my report for USIP last year on the 2021 Line of Control ceasefire. That 2021 ceasefire may also be a victim of yesterday's terror attack in Kashmir. (The USIP website was taken down along with USIP's demise.) www.christopherorenclary.com/uploads/3/9/...

In South Asia regional news that shouldn't get lost in the shuffle, seeing reports that MCC is getting shut down, including the Nepal project. What tools does the US bring atp to engaging countries in Asia? Beyond tariffs, that is?

now up to 28 dead; a massacre. major crisis brewing - likely pressure on India to hit Pakistan like in 2019 after Pulwama.

A lot of MAGA fluff in Rubio's reorg statement today, but fwiw I think this is generally true. As someone who worked at NDI, and got funding from DRL as a result, I often wondered what was up with certain projects.

At this point, if you're still writing an article like this, I think you do need to explain what this community specifically hopes the president will deliver them.
