Using Japanese is not required, but considerate. I tend to use the Shirabe Jisho (Japanese dictionary) when I want to comprise sentences in Japanese. The standard translation algorithms used in X and 🦋 are not really accurate or meaningful in conveying my meaning or thoughts. I mostly use English.

She’s an octopus girl? I enjoy the fun distractions you have her dealing with. But something to keep in mind is that the octopi we know of are really smart and may be smarter than we are as their limbs/arms also have distinct brains. They would be great librarians!
